The good news is that this week’s number one album didn’t break any records for lowest selling album, but the fact that is good news is bad news for the biz. The number one album sold 45K and the industry continues on its moribund way.
Three idols sell a rounded 5K (Crystal, Fantasia and Carrie) and Daughtry is the fourth Idol in the BB200. There was no consistent pattern for Idol albums this week. Fantasia and Chris saw a big increase in sales (+20%) while Crystal saw a big decrease in sales (-30%).

*Brian has FD listed as 89th, but Crystal’s producer tweeted 94th, so I’ll go with his numbers since he had the full SoundScan numbers. Sometimes, they re-run the chart.
