Chris Daughtry to Join Rumer Willis on CSI: NY

American Idol favorite Chris Daughtry has signed to guest-star on the 100th episode of CBS’s CSI: NY, PEOPLE has learned.

Also bound for the same episode are Rumer Willis, who has already shot her appearance, and Scott Wolf.

The 100th show, set to air in November, centers on the pursuit of a serial killer who targets people named Mac Taylor ‘ the name of the character played by the show’s Gary Sinese.

AMERICAN IDOL winner RUBEN STUDDARD will never forget meeting his wife for the first time – because it was between the aisles of U.S. budget store Wal-Mart.
Studdard was busy promoting his debut album in the retail giant’s Atlanta, Georgia store in 2006, and was approached by an autograph hunter – who turned out to be his now wife Surata Zaui MCCants.

And the singer admits it was an odd first meeting, because she was there to get his signature for her best pal.

“American Idol” pianist appears in Rohnert Park

Michael Orland, associate musical director for the …American Idol television series, will lead a master class for local singers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at Sonoma State University.

Sponsored by Roustabout Theater, the resident theater company and school at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, the session will be open to spectators at $12 per tickets. A question-and-answer period with the audience will follow the class.

‘America’s Got Talent’: The Final Five!

Last night’s episode of America’s Got Talent was a fascinating study in television. For who would have imagined that they could stretch five people getting kicked off the show into a half-hour ep? What could have been a five-minute segment at the end of another show turned into its own spectacle, complete with a musical performance by Natasha Bedingfield! I’m still baffled as to why she was there.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ season starts Sept. 22

When a formula works, producers stick to it like gum on the bottom of, well, a dancing shoe. And “Dancing with the Stars, ” is back, formula intact.

There’s the recently retired athlete, the reality star, the glamour girl, the singer. Again, producers collected a good-looking bunch, many of whom might even be agile. And all are vying for judges’ compliments and viewers’ votes when “Dancing” begins again at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, on WEWS Channel 5.

LOS ANGELES It has been said of dancing icon Fred Astaire partner Ginger Rogers that she had to do everything Astaire did, only backwards and in high heels. In other words, men may lead in dancing but it is the women who are the real force.

Need proof? Four of the six Dancing With the Stars celebrity winners have been men.

The seventh season starts tonight at 8 on Ch. 5, 6. Female professional dancers Kym Johnson, Edyta Sliwinska and Karina Smirnoff will be under pressure to make their male partners look good. This year they have been paired with gridder Warren Sapp, comedian Jeff Ross and chef Rocco DiSpirito, respectively.
