American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, 17, will have close supervision as he hits the road for the summer American Idols Live! Tour. His father Jeff, who had his backstage privileges revoked in the final weeks of Idol, will be on the tour bus with his son and the other top five guys (Michael Johns, David Cook, Chikezie and Jason Castro).

The singer-and-actress, who is releasing ‘Spotlight’ as the first single from her new album, revealed the lyrics were inspired by her love life.

Regulars From American Bandstand Join Radio Broadway 6/30

It was announced today that members of the original AMERICAN BAND STAND will be joining Radio Broadway Presents “The Radio Hits of 1958, ” on Monday, June 30 at 8 p.m. at The Town Hall, Times Square’s landmark concert venue. The show will feature a cast of Broadway stars and American Idol’s Constantine Maroulis performing songs that topped the Billboard charts in the year 1958.

14th annual Vallejo Outreach includes Mandisa performance

Pastor Scott Peterson of Church on the Hill still has a day left of prayer, but he’s already made one: Weather on Saturday that won’t roast thousands of people at the 14th annual Vallejo Outreach and late-afternoon concert by “American Idol” finalist Mandisa.

“Cool weather, ” Peterson said of his wish.

Maybe a group prayer is in order for this one. The Weather Channel predicts a high of 86 in Valllejo, though stranger things have happened in this city.
