New song is music to American Idol’s ears – “As soon as I heard it, I knew it was good song. As a musician, if it takes you a long time to figure it out, it might not be as catchy as you want it to be. I heard it twice and I knew it. I knew the words, I knew all the melodies. It was really cool,” Fradiani tells USA TODAY during an interview shortly after his victory on Wednesday. In coming up with the single, “They listened to a lot of the original music that I did before Idol. Mike still has his back against the wall – will anybody team up with him or will he remain a lone wolf? Carolyn has played a strong game and if she can get to the end she has a good argument. Rodney, despite his frustrations about his birthday, has played a very strong and “quiet” game of keeping his alliance together and would love to see him get a chance to plead his case. Sierra needs to make a move otherwise she is going to face a tough jury. This is what I mean when I say you have to make moves, otherwise you find yourself deep in the game with very little resume.
