The center of activity before the live show begins is usually the green room, a credentialed-only VIP area walled off in the corridor next to the Idol stage. But not Wednesday night. That’s because right outside the VIP room you couldn’t help but bump into Idols everywhere you turned. Not the season 12 finalists but returning singers from seasons past, including Didi Benami, Diana DeGarmo, Michael Johns, Pia Toscano, Brooke White and Ace Young. Audio: Phillip Phillips kicks off first solo tour in Sioux Falls – The current outspoken “American Idol” judge never had a chance to critique season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, but any “Idol” fan would agree. She would have been batting her eyes indeed. Sioux Falls likely will be, too, when the aw-shucks Leesburg, Ga., gentleman kicks off his first solo college tour Tuesday with two shows at the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science. Phillip Phillips’ ‘Terrifying’ American Idol Return – LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Phillip Phillips is the reigning “American Idol” champ, but the singer says returning to the stage that made him famous on Thursday night was panic-inducing. “It was terrifying,” Phillip told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following his performance on the show in Los Angeles. “Being on live television is scary. You never know what’s going to happen.
