Carrie Underwood’s ‘Soul Surfer’ Heads to Church

Carrie Underwood dazzled millions on the small screen as she competed on ‘American Idol, ‘ and eventually was named the season’s winner in 2005, so there’s no telling how big of an impact she’ll make on the silver screen. The newlywed will make her film debut in the upcoming flick, ‘Soul Surfer, ‘ but while most star-studded movies premiere in packed theaters, Carrie’s will take place in sanctuaries.

The movie, based on the true story of 13-year old Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm in a surfing accident, is a tale of fierce faith and determination. Because of the positive message geared to audiences of all ages, free previews of the movie are being offered to select church audiences, in hopes that their rave reviews and praise for the flick will help fill movie seats when ‘Soul Surfer’ is officially released on April 15.
