Idol’s Youngest Contestants Shine In Vegas

The 15- and 16-year-olds really have been some of the biggest surprises to us and the ones who have really blew us away, ” Jennifer Lopez told reporters following rehearsals at The Mirage.

Randy Jackson agreed: “We never thought dropping the age one year, to 15 this year, would’ve made that big a difference, ” he said. “But it’s crazy.” (The show lowered its minimum from age 16 for its 10th season.)

“It’s proving very difficult to chop it down, ” said Lopez, who proved to be a supportive judge in a new promo for the show. “We’re in that place where everybody’s so good, it’s like, ‘Who do we send home?’ It gets harder every day.”

I’m] probably a little tougher than these two, ” Jackson said in reference to Lopez and Steven Tyler. “This is my 10th season.”

David Archuleta talks to Salt Lake Tribune about MoTab concerts

When Archuleta was approached earlier this year, he was surprised, and said, “There was a little bit of time when I freaked out.” And then when he rehearsed with them for the first time, he said he told himself, “Wow.” He continued: “You feel so small. It was humbling.” Archuleta’s biggest challenge, he said, is to “complement all those other voices and instruments, ” and to avoid being “self-indulgent.”

Crystal Bowersox Wary Of ‘American Idol’ Changes

“I think that ‘American Idol’ producers … were a little disappointed on how many rootsy, folksy people they got. And they’re really looking for a pop icon to come through. But, I don’t know, we’ll see what happens, ” she said. “With Steven Tyler as a judge, you’d think you want to stay with that rootsy-rock thing, but then there’s J.Lo, and Randy’s still there. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next season.”

Bowersox’s debut album rocks Toledo record stores

Locally, “Farmer’s Daughter” is already a huge success. The album rocked record stores Tuesday, selling out across Toledo. “We sold over 200 copies…We are expecting 50 more in tomorrow, ” said an employee at North Toledo’s Culture Clash Records. “We would have never expected to be sold out in two hours.”

Culture Clash expected to have enough supply to last through the holiday season. Little did they know that Farmer’s Daughter would be in such high demand.

“It was absolutely a madhouse. We haven’t seen a reaction or anything like that in a single release ever. By 2:30 p.m., it was the best selling CD in store history.”

Ex “Idol”: Jackson “Positive” About Judges!

Jackson, who helped introduce White to the producer of “Change Of Plans, ” has been a mentor of sorts to the aspiring actress. “[The new judge lineup] is as mysterious to me as it is to everyone else, having had nine years of a pretty steady formula with those judges, ” White tells TooFab. “I have no idea what to anticipate, but I’ve talked to Randy, and he’s pretty positive.”

But she says, it’s Jackson’s nature to be optimistic about the changes to the lineup–even though last year’s shakeup, which included adding Ellen DeGeneres, sparked controversey. “That’s just who he is. He’s a very positive guy. Obviously he can’t say too much about it, but he said it’s definitely going to be different, but maybe these are changes for the better!”

David Archuleta Says He’s Not Ready for a Relationship

David Archuleta called us from his family home in Utah to talk about the holidays and why he won’t be kissing anyone under the mistletoe this year.

What does Christmas mean to you?

Well, it’s a season of giving — that’s for sure. And what I love about it is that people are in a different mindset. They think about other people more. I love that! There are a lot of holidays, but Christmas is about remembering Christ’s birth and the season of giving. I also love all the great holiday songs. People just feel good this time of year and I love it!

Ballroom hit Burn the Floor to visit Oklahoma City

The production will run from Jan. 4 to 9 at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City. Tickets for all eight performances go on sell Dec. 10.

The live performances will feature accomplished dancers and TV personalities from the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” like Ashleigh and Ryan Di Lello, Janette Manrara, Robbie Kemtoni and Karen Hauer. It is no coincidence that these dancers have put a modern-day pirouette on what it means to dance in a ballroom.

The Burn the Floor Company consists of 20 dancers, two percussionists and two vocalists. One of the vocalists contributing to the tour is Vonzell Solomon.

Solomon finished third in American Idol season four and is working on her sophomore album.
