Disney World taps into ‘Idol’ popularity

Here’s how it will work: Up to about 400 people a day will be able to sign up for auditions online (at www.disneyworld.com/idol) or in person. Each singer will do a short a cappela song of his or her choice, in front of a casting director in a private room. That casting director will give the singer tips and determine whether he or she goes on to the next stage or, like most, gets the boot.

“The majority of people who watch the show know that only a small percent of singers will go on, but they will still have fun. So even if you experience what you would call rejection, they’ve still had a good experience, ” says Laura Offerdahl, Disney entertainment producer for the Idol Experience.

‘Journey’ to center of the dearth

Has it really been more than six months since our favorite former Tulsa bartender, David Cook, won last year’s competition? (Note to anyone who wants whine about how Cook is really from Kansas City: It’s 2009. Move on.)

Maybe the ratings for the premiere would have been better if you gave us more time to miss the show. It seems as if it’s been only one month since we’ve had to put up with your antics, producers. Two-hour shows full of filler, corny montages and never-ending, shameless commercial breaks. Painfully bad audition footage of folks whose hopes you artificially raise by giving them a call back to sing in front of the judges after open auditions, even though you know they’re terrible (and possibly mentally unhinged).

INAUGURATION SONG??? JENNIFER HUDSON MAKES A SECRET TRIP TO WASHINGTON D.C!!!!

But MediaTakeOut.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned from a source close to Barack Obama’s camp that Jennifer Hudson and members of her family are scheduled to “secretly arrive” in Washington D.C on Monday.

Could she be singing, or just another one of the 2 million people going to D.C. to see the first Black president get sworn in.

MediaTakeOut.com’s snitch tells, “No one is saying anything about [Jennifer’s arrival], so my guess is that she’ll be a part of the ceremony.”
