LOS ANGELES – Kanye West had nothing to complain about Sunday, as he picked up his first-ever American Music Awards and delivered a flawless, if subdued, performance of his new single, …Heartless.
West was a double winner, collecting trophies for favorite male rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for his CD, …Graduation.
But the evening big winner was 19-year-old Chris Brown, who won three awards, including artist of the year honors.

Eric West Teams With American Idol David Hernandez On Debut Album
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 24, 2008 — Actor and singer Eric West who earned honors as one of US Weekly’s “One’s To Watch” and IMDB.com’s “Top Fresh Faces” is also adding songwriter and producer to his list of jobs as he works with American Idol alumni David Hernandez on his upcoming debut album.
David Hernandez’s untitled album is scheduled to arrive next year. Eric West is also finishing work on his long-awaited debut album, which brings together an A-list of guest producers, which will also arrive in 2009. His previous credits including working with Mario, Cher, Jeannie Ortega and Daniel De Bourg.

‘Idol’-ize your holiday
Locke doesn’t care what carols her fellow “American Idol” alums croon on their holiday tour, which launches Saturday in Pittsburgh, as long as she gets to sing about that jolly, happy soul with a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal.
“‘Frosty the Snowman’ is my favorite all-time Christmas song, ever since I was a little girl, ” the 30-year-old Locke said. “I remember sitting there watching that cartoon, so fascinated by him and that song. It just stuck in my head.”
Ford Sticks With ‘American Idol’ Sponsorship
While the economic uncertainly surrounding American car makers has called into question some of the nation’s biggest marketing budgets, struggling Ford Motor Co. will be sticking with its American Idol sponsorship for the 2009 season.
“Yes, the partnership between Ford and Idol continues in 2009, ” confirmed a Ford spokesperson.
Spokespersons for Fox as well as Idol producer Fremantle also confirmed that the relationship remains intact.
That is welcome news to everyone involved with the show, as Ford last year spent nearly $78 million on its American Idol sponsorship (including commercials), and has spent some $328.5 million over the seven seasons of Idol, according to data from TNS Media Intelligence.
