Simon Cowell ‘X Factor’ Trailer Transforms Into Kick-Ass Emergency Room

Simon Cowell’s enormous “X Factor” trailer isn’t just pimped out — it’s a freakin’ MASH unit … fitted with better medical emergency equipment than your average doctor’s office!

A source close to Simon tells TMZ the trailer now has something called a “Ready Cabinet” … which transforms from an ordinary piece of furniture into a virtual hospital — with a camera to examine wounds, a scope to check the inner ear, and a vitals monitor.

The rig is even ready for bad tickers — it has an EKG glove that looks a lot like an oven mitt, but costs an incredible $4,000.

How Outasight’s ‘Tonight Is the Night’ Got Tapped for Pepsi’s ‘X Factor’ Campaign

Richard Andrew, a.k.a. Outasight, was in a much different place just two months ago.

The singer/rapper, signed to Warner Bros. since 2009, got a call in early September from his manager Rene Mclean at RPM Management. “Would you be interested in having your song in a Pepsi commercial?” Mclean said. “Yes, I would,” Outasight replied, a bit awestruck. The ensuing sequence of events was a bit of a whirlwind.

Live at X Factor: Simon Cowell Speaks Out on the Stacy Francis and Dexter Haygood Controversies

“I think it’s going to help her,” Cowell says of Francis. “It does feel like she’s being picked on a bit. We never said you couldn’t have had a career in the past. It’s absurd. She never hid it from us. The public could care less.” He also adds that Francis has been dealing with setbacks her whole life and this is nothing new. “She always said somebody was always standing in her way saying, ‘You’re not good enough.’ It’s happened all her life. The public couldn’t care less.”

As for the show’s other controversy, you know, Dexter Haygood saying his elimination was rigged, Cowell simply says, “It’s absolutely crazy!” Nicole Scherzinger adds, “It’s simply not the case, but I’m a big fan of Dexter’s and I always will be.”

‘The X Factor’ on the scene: Simon’s flirting, Nicole’s wardrobe malfunctions, and everything else you didn’t see on TV

A lot of this fun (and plenty of heartbreak) was delivered straight to your television for your viewing pleasure, but, as always, there were plenty of things that you didn’t see on TV last night. To get the full scoop you should probably consult the two diehard “Simon groupies” from Iowa who were sitting next to me, because those ladies made the Idol junkies look amateur. They each donated $2,000 to charity for their tickets! But for now you’re stuck with me, and I can tell you that most of the judges were feeling the heat last night. Simon Cowell could barely sit still, and Paula Abdul was giving out group hugs as if they were candy. Candy, I tell you! Read on for all the details on those things and more inside the studio at X Factor last night.

‘X Factor’ Backstage: An ‘Awkward’ Night for Paula

Reluctantly, Paula chose InTENsity over Stereo Hogzz as the weaker of the two groups. This decision, she explained to the press after the show, was a difficult one. “It’s an awkward feeling,” she explained with evident emotion. “I cared so much about all of the kids that I’m working with, but there were a lot and I got to know them very well and they worked extremely hard.”

Even Simon had to concede that Paula’s groups were both worthy contenders. “They were both good last night. I wasn’t expecting to see either of them in the bottom two.”

Paula was later able to regroup with inTENsity in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and it was clear that everyone involved was still reeling from the elimination. Seeing her kids so disappointed, Abdul’s motherly instincts came out and she addressed her ten with great affection and harsh reality. “I think it’s wrong that a judge mentor of their own category has to be forced to say something. How do you make a decision?,” Paula lamented.

‘X Factor’: Simon Cowell and Judges Address Contestant Controversies, Broken Dreams

On what the judges told inTENsity following the group’s tearful elimination:

Abdul:“What I try to make them realize is that they may not understand now, but it’s only the beginning and that really magical things happen with shows like these. Their lives will never be the same and they’ll continue to do music because they love it…. They want it really bad and they take great direction and were really gelling as a group.”

Cowell:“I think there is a market for this band. I said to them that even at their age, you’ve gotta stay strong. Tenacity is what it’s all about.”
