David Archuleta is all smiles at the 1st Annual Eunice Kennedy Shriver Challenge on Saturday (October 23) in Washington, D.C.

The 19-year-old performed at the event, which featured more than 700 participants who walked, ran, and biked to help raise money for the Special Olympics and Best Buddies International.

Kris Allen performs to benefit Blackbird art academy

This October, Arkansas will once again welcome home American Idol: Season 8 winner, Kris Allen, as he performs a benefit concert for Blackbird Academy of Arts, Inc.

The performance will be held at the Reynolds Performance Hall at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27. Tickets will only be $25 and will go on sale the first of October. Tickets may be purchased through the Reynolds Box Office located on the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) campus.

This event is being underwritten by the Music Empowers Foundation, an organization established for the purpose of providing funds to non-profit music education programs.

X Factor 2010: Guilty Pleasures songlist revealed *UPDATED*

This week’s X Factor theme has been confirmed and vocal coach Yvie Burnett revealed that each of the songs on Saturday will be ‘Guilty Pleasures.’

Speaking on Matt Edmondson’s F Factor Burnett said:

“We’ve got a great theme this week, it’s called Guilty Pleasures.”

The singer, who also trains stars on America’s and Britain’s Got Talent added:

“We’ve got a few surprises that are not your normal sort of X Factor songs.”

But Glee’s Cheerios coach has a serious side, as she reveals in an accompanying interview. She has been sober for nearly 10 years after she decided to ditch her “drinking culture” roots when she was 31. Although she says her problem was mild, she says she was sick of waking up hungover.

“Relatively speaking, my personal bottom was rather benign, ” she says. She’d joke at 12-step meetings, “Had I know I’d be telling my story over and over again, I would have made it a lot better.”

Melinda Doolittle sang an original song she co-wrote with Regie Hamm (he wrote David Cook’s “Time of My Life”) at Thursday night’s Bella Bash in Nashville. Danny Gokey also performed at the benefit to support Hamm’s charity, The Angel Wings Foundation.
