Fox6 Ted Perry and Kim Murphy talked with the first three ‹American Idol season eight finalists, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver. The Milwaukee station talked first with hometown favorite Danny, and his brother Charlie who works for the station. Grace admitted she prepared herself for going home, but felt …relieved and happy that they voted for me. The 81st annual Academy Awards – From the Kodak Theater

The Oscar show is watched worldwide by an estimated 800 million people, but it’s a very different experience inside the Kodak Theater.

Others can decide how Sunday’s event looked on TV, but for the 3, 000-plus attendees Sunday night, it was terrific. As Danny Boyle said in his acceptance speech, “I don’t know what (this show) looks like on television, but in the room it’s bloody wonderful.”

Clay Aiken Leaves Record Label

The rumors started when his likeness was removed from his record’s Web site and now Clay Aiken is setting the record straight: the former American Idol has parted ways with RCA Records, Aiken’s rep has confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.

“We were unable to come to terms in a recent contract negotiation, and decided that it was best to move on, ” the rep, Cindi Berger, said Friday.

Media Matters: Baby V still going strong four years later

Lee County very own …American Idol contestant Vonzell Solomon is still working in music ‘  four years after she made it to the Top 3 during Season 4.

Currently, her season is being featured in the syndicated television show …American Idol Rewind, which can be seen on the TV Guide Network on Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 5 p.m.

I spoke to Solomon, aka Baby V, by phone from L.A. Here are excerpts from our conversation:

CW: What are you up to currently? Where do you live, what are you working on, etc.?
VS: I moved to L.A and Im working on my album. I write and arrange my music. I have a single coming out soon, and an album ‘  probably this summer. I started my own record label ‘  Melodic Records.

Cowell: ‘I’ve decided to freeze myself’

Simon Cowell has revealed that he wants to be cryonically frozen so that he can return to life in the future.

The media mogul was speaking to guests at a private dinner hosted by Prime Minister Gordon Brown when he disclosed that he would be doing the UK an “invaluable service”, says the Daily Mail.

He said: “I have decided to freeze myself when I die. You know, cryonics. You pay a lot of money and you get stuck in a deep freeze once you’ve been declared dead.

“Medical science is bound to work out a way of bringing us back to life in the next century or so, and I want to be available when they do. I would be doing the nation an invaluable service.”

19 Entertainment and CKX Announce Co-Production Deal With ITV

19 Entertainment Limited, a division of CKX, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKXE) announced that it has entered into a non-exclusive co-production and co-development deal with ITV Studios, the production arm of United Kingdom television company ITV. The agreement calls for 19 Entertainment and ITV to work together to create six new, unscripted television formats for broadcast in the U.K. and throughout the world, with 19 and ITV sharing equally in the rights to the co-developed programs.

The deal reunites Simon Fuller, the Chief Executive Officer of 19 Entertainment and creator of American Idol, with Lee Bartlett, the managing director of ITV Global Content, who worked together when Bartlett worked for Fox in the U.S.

Commenting on the agreement with ITV, Mr. Fuller said: “The world biggest TV show’ American Idol’ started life on ITV almost ten years ago as Pop Idol and Im delighted to be partnering with ITV again.”
