Is ‘American Idol’s’ Adam Lasher on the eve of fame? – “It’s awesome,” Lasher said of becoming a contestant on the show. “I’m learning so much.” It’s the same feeling he wants listeners to experience during his concerts. Lasher has been playing regularly in small, casual joints, having started out at Rock ‘n Fish and expanded to Laguna’s Tommy Bahama, Mozambique and the Cliff. He said he commutes from Long Beach to the seaside town because he appreciates that Laguna is receptive to the arts and music. Laguna locals are just as appreciative of his artistry. Lasher studied music theory and guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston and met his bandmates in the Adam Lasher Band while pursuing his degree. George County native Brandon Green seen, not heard on ‘American Idol’ – “American Idol” hopeful Brandon Green made a few appearances during Wednesday night’s Hollywood Week episode, although he never sang a note. Green, a George County native who lived in Ocean Springs before moving to Nashville, could be seen in the audience applauding his fellow contestants as they took their turns on the stage, but he was never shown on stage. – Read more at Sun Herald.com
David Cook plans ‘unique experience’ for Sherman concert – Tell me about your new album. How does it differ from the others? It was more of an in-house process. I produced it and had a buddy of mine engineer it. It was exciting to see it through from start to finish from a vision standpoint. The end result is a record I’m really proud of. What can people expect from this tour? We’re going to do a mix — some stuff off the new record and stuff people are familiar with, and we always try to do a couple covers that are maybe new for us. We try to make every night a unique experience to that crowd, that venue and that city. We don’t operate on a hard script. I think a lot of people assume that when you get off the show, you come home and all the doors just fling open. But it’s just not like that.
