American Idol Bits and Pieces

I whole bunch of stuff I missed during Idol finale madness, right here in a big ole catch-all post:

Jon Peter Lewis’s drop date for his upcoming album Break The Silence has been moved from June 3 to July 22. Just so you know! However, if you pre-order the CD/T-shirt bundle before June 3, (tomorrow) you’ll get a personal thank you in the album liner notes. The album will also be available at Amazon and other retail outlets.

Speaking of JPL. I stumbled across this. All through the months of July and August, The Rrazzroom in San Francisco will be featuring a show called “Idols in Concert”, directed by AI’s musical director, Michael Orland. The show features a rotating trio of Idols. So far, Anwar Robinson, Jon Peter Lewis, Lakisa Jones and Gina Glocksen are set to appear. The site promises “More Idols to Come!” so keep checking The Idol Appearance page for updates. Sounds interesting, particularly with Orland directing.

Elliott Yamin has a track on the new Disney compilation, Disneymania, Vol. 6. He covers Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King.

Constantine Maroulis begins a run as Judas in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Lincroft, NJ on June 13. Oh, but he promises he’s won’t be dwelling in the small time for long, as he’s been offered another role on Broadway. If it “works out” he’ll be back on the Great White Way by Labor Day. No details forthcoming on what that role may be. Care to speculate? Ha ha.

ETA: I have two more items:

Ace Young is promoting his upcoming album in an unusual way. He appeared on Spike TV’s TNA iMPACT! wresting program last Thursday, and he’ll also be appearing this coming Thursday (9 pm, Spike TV), and on a PPV event on June 8. Here is Ace’s video recut to incorporate one of the wrestler’s story lines. Weird! Ace’s album drops on July 15.

Check out a video of Sanjaya Malakar on the set of his upcoming Nationwide Insurance commercial. He’s the latest “celebrity” featured as part of Nationwide’s ongoing ad campaign “Life Comes at You Fast.” The ad has featured assorted has-beens and never-wases including, Kevin Federline, MC Hammer and Fabio.
