Faith-filled Gokey gets ‘back up again’ – It has been over a year since you released “Hope in Front of Me.” What are you working on now? Gokey: We just recorded that same record in Spanish, so we have been working on putting distribution in place. I also just finished recording my first Christmas album, which my wife (Leyicet) says is her favorite record I have ever recorded. We sat down with the label and picked out the songs and figured out what makes sense. Empire Producer addresses Jlo Diss – Lee Daniels upset some Jennifer Lopez fans when Empire character, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) made a crack about her singing voice. In reference to casting two Latinas in a girl group, she said, “Ain’t nothing wrong with a couple of Jlo’s as long as they can sing…” Daniels posted a photo of himself with Jlo on Instagram and captioned it: “I talk to Jennifer all the time about being on Empire. We’d be lucky to have her. She’s proven herself as an original: one of the best singers, dancers and actors of all time. Look sometimes, Cookie just says some stupid shit.”
