HDD – Album Sales Prediction : Oct 31-Nov 6

With 54.02% of the reports now in, Justin Bieber is easily topping the chart. This album of Christmas tunes is actually his 5th US release in less than 2 years. He started with My World on Nov 17, 2009 which was an EP. He followed it up with My World II in March, an acoustic version of the album in November, and “Never Say Never” remixes in February of this year. He has another album scheduled for early next year. Those albums ended up 5, 1, 7 and 1 on the BB200. One can’t say this kid doesn’t make hay while the sun shines.

Wale, a rapper, is second with his second album. Susan Boyle who dominated the Q4 charts for the last couple of years still proves that Simon’s dream factory is working by being in third with her third album. Just behind her is another artist who got her start on a reality tv singing show. Miranda Lambert first made a splash on the 2003 season of Nashville Star and this will be her fourth solo album (and is in fourth place). Earlier this year, she also released an album as part of the Pistol Annies. She is married to Voice judge Blake Shelton.

Coming in 5th, which would be as low as she has ever been since the album was released in February, is Adele. Tyrese is opening in 6th and Michael Buble is making it two Christmas albums in the top 10 at 7th. There may be 3 Christmas albums in the top 10, but we don’t now where AGT’s Jackie Evancho is lurking right now (no numbers have been reported – this will be her third release within a year). The only other non-Idol in the top 10 is Coldplay who have tumbled from 1st to 10th with “Mylo Xyloto”, but don’t expect them to stay there after the final report.

Scotty is leading the Idols right now in 8th. If he doesn’t sell another album by the final report, he’ll still be in the 25% range expected for a 5th week drop. Right behind him is Kelly who will probably see a big uptick on the final report. Kelly also appears on a duet with Jason Alden on his 17th place album “My Kinda Party”. Season 10’s Lauren Alaina is currently in 21st place and right behind her is Tony Bennett whose album features a duet with Carrie Underwood.

Voice Judge Blake Shelton has an album at 31st and the title track of the Footloose album at 47th. His fellow judge, Adam, has his bands album at 42nd.

Oops. Sorry. I thought I’d posted this sooner and I hadn’t.
