HDD – Album Sales Prediction –Feb 14-20

So, who ended up being the big post-Grammy winner this year? Well, it turned out to be somebody who won nothing at all. Helped along with his blanket of media coverage and his very own movie, Justin Bieber not only tops the chart with his “Never Say Never” remixes, he has two albums in the top 5 (“My World 2.0” – 4th), 3 albums in in the top 20 (“Acoustic” – 16th) and 4 albums in the top 30 (“My World” – 28th). This kid has had a roller-coaster week doing everything from winning the MVP at the Celebrity NBA All-Stars game to being shot to death on CSI while still finding time to win Best New International Artist at the British “Grammys”. What can one say about all that?

The chart itself is littered with surging Grammy performers and winners. Mumford and Sons hold down the number 2 position, non-Grammy Now 37 is there for 3rd, Bruno doo-wops for 5th and the Grammy Nominee CD featuring Adam Lambert comes in at 6th. Recent advertising scion Eminem comes in 7th followed by the big winners of the night, Lady Antebellum at 8th. Rihanna had two performances and that helped her stay strong at number 9 and Nicki Minaj rounds out the top 10. Arcade Fire who won album of the year are at 11. The artist that beat Bieber for the Best New Artist, Esperenza Spalding, moved a boat load of her CD as well. 21st is pretty good for an album of Chamber Music.

And finighing out the Idol story, Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” featuring a duet with Kelly Clarkson is 12th while Big Time Rush’s “BTR” featuring a duet with Jordin Sparks climbs back onto the chart at 37th.

This is the daily numbers thread. Never say never – Remix that old post and post it again!
