Here’s a bit of fun news. Darren Criss will reunite with his former Glee stars Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist when he guest stars in a two-part The Flash/Supergirl musical episode as the Big Bad Music Meister, TVLine reports.
“With our Flash and our Supergirl being Glee alums, how could we not have them go up against another Glee favorite like Darren Criss?” exec producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine. “We have been blown away by his talent over the years and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Music Meister.”
The crossover will air Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21 at 8/7 each night. The event will start at the end of Supergirl, saving most of the musical action for The Flash‘s portion of the event, appropriately titled “Duet.”
As far as singing is concerned, the character lineup is a who’s who of Broadway stars: Jesse L. Martin (Joe), Victor Garber (Dr. Stein), John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) Jeremy Jordan (Winn), and Carlos Valdes (Cisco) will be singing alongside Gustin, Benoist and Criss.
In case you need a Glee refresher: Grant Gustin guest-starred beginning in season 3 as the conniving Sebastian out to steal Kurt (Chris Colfer) away from his boyfriend Blaine (Darren Criss). It appears that the hero and villain rolls will be reversed for the crossover. Melissa Benoist joined Glee in season 4 as the quasi-Rachel replacement, Marley Rose.
