In this week’s Glee, titled “Asian F”, Amber Riley’s character, Mercedes, auditions for the school musical with a kick ass performance of Jennifer Hudson’s R&B hit, “Spotlight”. Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) is none too happy, as the two divas will eventually face off for the coveted role of Maria in West Side Story.
The PR machine is cranked to 11 for this episode, with entertainment reporters who have seen “Asian F” touting it as the Best. Episode. Ever. I’m gonna go right ahead and ignore the hype to avoid being disappointed when I finally see it for myself. But, having said that, Season 3 of Glee–thanks to it’s new writing staff–seems to righting itself after last year’s sophomore slump.
