43 countries participate in this year’s contest, but only 26 of them made it to tonight’s Grand Final. All 26 songs will be perfomed tonight once again. After the performances, televoting will start and after that the spokespersons of all 43 countries will call into the live broadcast to announce their jury votes. National juries consist of 5 members per country. Those votes are already locked in right now – the jury show took place last night. The results of the televoting will be announced at the end. The Grand Final will last just under 4 hours.

Eurovision’s rules are simple, but strict. Songs can be only 3 minutes long and each country can only have 6 performers on stage and this includes the back-up vocalists and dancers. All the singing is live, but the music is all recorded. Many countries use various props. There are only 40 seconds between performances, so the production crew has to get the props on and off the stage quickly.
