David Cook took the stage at the Jammin’ Java Friday night to an enthusiastic sold out crowd. Among a slew of favorite tunes such as “Life on the Moon,” “Time Marches On,” and more, the American Idol season 7 winner played a brand new song, “Gimme Heartbreak.” Fans have been waiting for the new song ever since the singer teased it in a tweet back in March.
The concert, which took place in Vienna, Virginia, but was livestreamed for fans who couldn’t make it to the show, was a prelude to Sunday’s (May 7) Race for Hope in Washington DC. David and his team have been involved with the event since 2009, after the singer lost his brother Adam to brain cancer. They’ve raised more than $1 million dollars for research towards a cure for the disease. If you’d like to donate to his team, click this link.
Check out David and his band members, Jeff Scott (guitar/keys), Ian Tate (bass) and Sam Huff (drums) perform their upcoming single “Gimme Heartbreak” at the Jammin’ Java.
