I’m rooting for Gilles and Cheryl, because I’ve got points on them in the pool. But, don’t ask me to predict who’s going to win…

Tomorrow night’s Season Finale: One of the dancing couples wins the mirrored trophy ball. But, not before Lady Gaga performs, Jeffrey Ross roasts the dancers, and the contestants dance one more for the judges score.

Gilles and Cheryl, Shawn and Mark and Melissa and Tony compete in the Finals of Dancing with the Stars.   Who will win the mirror ball trophy?

The Paso Doble Face Off is first

The judges split off to work with the contestants.   Bruno works with Shawn and Mark, barking skeery instructions at them. Carrie Ann tries to break Melissa from relying too much on her ballet and cheerleading background.   Len tells Gilles to make his Paso “a little less hectic.” Love the fake dialog! Could it be more stilted? And Bruno, tan boy, the sun is bad for you…

Next, is the group rehearsal.   The contestants will be dancing a group routine, but they’ll be facing off against each other, rather than dancing together.

The performance:

Len says Shawn’s routine was full of energy, Melissa had a slight mistake, but far more convincing, and Gilles wasn’t as hectic this time. “Good job, ” he said. Bruno says it was like “watching three facets of a jewel…all three were splendid” Carrie Ann says, “This has been my fav season…all incredible dancers.” She called Shawn incredible, despite not having as much of an emotional connection. She says Melissa was “hitting it hard, ” and she called Gilles, “perfection.”

Shawn and Mark – Carrie Ann – 9, Len -9, Bruno -10 – 28 – 1-800-868-3413
Melissa and Tony – Carrie Ann -10, Len – 9, Bruno – 10 – 29 – 1-800-868-3409
Gilles and Cheryl – Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Bruno – 10 – 301-800-868-3405

Freestyle Round

Shawn and Mark – She’s going to back off her gymnastics to showcase all of her new dancing skillz.   Olympian Apolo Ohno visits the rehearsal.   They’ve got some crazy jeweled masks on. Guess they are supposed to be bank robbers.   They throw them offf to do some crazy Jivey thing. It’s a ton o fun!   Bruno says, “You are going for gold…explosive performance! Marvoulous.”   You are so adorable…that was exactly what I wanted to see…flawless, precise…”   Len says, “I loved it.”   Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 10, Bruno – 10 – 30

Melissa and Tony – Tony has a little injury after Melissa accidentally smacks him. Their dance is a hip-hoppy thing, with lots of lifts and flips. Carrie Ann says, “I love the new attitude you’ve got going…the choreography felt disjointed.” Len says, “You showed your versatility…it was not my cup of tea…you are so elegant, and you went for the cheerleader stuff.” Bruno says, “The lifts were good, but disjointed, wasn’t as perfect as we would have liked for a final dance.” Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 9, Bruno – 9 – 27

Gilles and Cheryl –   We’re back in the 80’s with sparkly dresses and ripped sweatshirts. Cheryl says she wanted to create a dance that showed personality, and she succeeded. The judges look charmed. Len says, “It was slick, it was crazy, I think this free style proved you really are a dancer.” Bruno says, “I have to say, I wanted a little more dancing from you…great performance…but more dancing.”   Carrie says, “I found it an odd choice…you are a phenomenal dancer, I wanted to see so much more.” Ok, maybe not as charmed as I thought.   Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 10   Bruno – 9 – 28
