Daily Numbers Thread 09/10/2019

Today’s thread is brought to you by the numbers 1 and 109.5M.

Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” remains on top of the Hot 100 for a second week. The song also tops the Digital Songs chart for a second week with 38K (-28%). “Señorita” from Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes is second on the Hot 100, but moves to the top of the Radio Airplay chart with an AI of 109.5M (+2%). This is her second (his first) song to top the overall airplay chart (the first being “Havana”).

On the BB200, “Fear Inoculum” from Tool tops the chart and has the biggest week for a Rock Alum in the past year. The album moves 270K equivalent albums with 248K traditional albums. This is the bands third number one, but they haven’t had one for 13 years.

Here is news you would not have expected 10 years ago: The RIAA reports that Vinyl revenue may eventually outsell Physical CD revenue in the near future. In the first half of 2019, dollar value of shipped CDs was $247.9M (and growing slowly) while it was $224.1M for Vinyl (and growing at 12%). Here is the report for people who like tracking the numbers.
