Since we published the Billboard update yesterday, today we’ll have a general numbers thread.
Each week, HDD publishes a Vibe-Rater chart – their picks to break. This week, 3 of the One Direction lads make the chart with Niall Horan at number one. They point out that he has 90M AI, has spent 3 months in the top 5 on iTunes and pop stations are putting his “Slow Hands” on power rotation. Liam Payne is at number 2 and Louis Tomlinson in 7th.
Billboard has an article tracking the case which explores if you can sell a digital single. Lawyers for ReDigi claim that it is no different then selling a second-hand book or album. The music industry say it will lead to outright piratery. At the rate the digital market is shrinking, it will probably be a mute point by the time the suite is resolved.
