Linkin Park earns their sixth number one album on the BB200 with “One More Light”. The album outpaced pundits’ predictions by earning 111K in equivalent album sales (predictions were 90K). Harry Styles is third in his second week. In all, it’s a bit of a depressing week for sales with just one debut in the top 10 and number 10 achieving just 30K in combined sales.

HDD has an article about the making of Harry Styles’ album with Jeff Bhaskar.

Spotify owes $1B. A lot of these “disruptive” companies manage to lose money hand over fist and still sell like hotcakes when they have their IPOs. They terms of their loan started at 5% on March 2016 going up 1% every 6 months (so now 7%). Spotify is planning to have its IPO soon, but does not plan on using underwriters to save fees. The expect to earn $13B from their share offering (why not? Uber is worth $68B despite losing $2.8B on $20B in revenue. Do they burn money in the bathrooms?)
