THR is reporting that Carrie Underwood will take part in a special concert at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on September 24 to honor Tony Bennett’s 85th birthday and serve as a benefit to help end hunger.
Tony will be working with the AARP, helping to end hunger for older Americans. You can read the press release HERE.
Carrie sings “It Had to Be You” with Tony on the legendary crooner’s upcoming Duets II album. The duo also filmed a performance for the season 2 premiere of CBS’ Blue Bloods. John Mayer (One For My Baby), Diana Krall and Stevie Wonder will also take part in the concert.
Duets II features collaborations with Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Queen Latifah and Michael Buble, and more and is set to be released on September 20.
The gig should be convenient for Carrie. She’ll be on the West Coast that weekend to perform at the big I Heart Radio Festival on the 23rd in Las Vegas.
