The second live eviction episode of Big Brother 23 airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.
Kyland is the HoH, and he nominated Frenchie and Britini for eviction. Derek X won the Power of Veto, but he chose not to use it. Frenchie and Britini remain on the block and will face the eviction vote tonight. Which member from Team Jokers will be evicted? And who will be the next HoH? Let’s find out!
After the Veto Meeting, Frenchie remains the house target. Derek X says not doing anything with the Veto was the best move for him this week. Kyland believes taking out Frenchie will be a resume builder for him. Frenchie does not like being on the block next to Britini, but he’s determined to keep fighting. Britini plans to lay low to survive the vote. Frenchie talks to some of his Houseguests, and he admits he doesn’t want to campaign against Britini. However, part of Frenchie’s plan is to “play possum.” He wants his fellow Houseguests to think he’s giving up. Meanwhile, Britini bonds with her fellow Houseguests by showing off her rap skills.
Frenchie begins his campaign. He individually talks to Xavier, Brent, Azah, Claire, and Sarah Beth. He promises loyalty and assures them that he’ll always be a bigger target than any of them. Frenchie believes he can change a few people’s minds to have enough votes to stay in the house.
Kyland and Sarah Beth talk in the HoH room. She shares that her father passed away due to COVID-19. She opens up to him about her father, and she’s grateful for the bond she has with Kyland. Later, Kyland has meetings with the rest of the teams. He meets with Team Aces, and he asks for safety for next week. Derek X. says he’ll keep Kyland safe. Whitney, Hannah, and Brent reassure Kyland that he’s good with them too. Derek X. stays behind in the HoH room, and he points out how Brent and Whitney didn’t promise Kyland safety. Kyland says he trusts Derek X. since he saved him with the Power of Veto last week, but he doesn’t feel good about Brent and Whitney. Kyland meets with Team Kings next. Christian and Alyssa say Slaughterhouse is no longer a true alliance, and they agree to join forces with Team Queens to target Brent and Whitney next week. Kyland meets with his fellow Team Queens members Claire and Whitney. They feel good about an alliance with the Kings and Queens plus Ace Derek X. Meanwhile, Brent is worried about the women joining forces against the men, and he tells Christian and Whitney how a girl needs to be evicted next week. Christian and Whitney are agreeable with him, but Christian says in the Diary Room that the Slaughterhouse alliance is no more.
It’s time for the eviction vote. Frenchie and Britini can each give one final statement. Britini raps her plea, and the Houseguests applaud her. Frenchie says he wants to keep the experience going, but he’ll always be their friend regardless. Afterwards, it’s time for the vote.
Claire votes to evict Frenchie.
Sarah Beth votes to evict Frenchie.
Xavier votes to evict Frenchie.
Derek F. votes to evict Britini.
Christian votes to evict Frenchie.
Whitney votes to evict Frenchie.
Azah votes to evict Frenchie.
Derek X. votes to evict Frenchie.
Tiffany votes to evict Frenchie.
Brent votes to evict Frenchie.
Hannah votes to evict Frenchie.
Alyssa votes to evict Frenchie.
By a vote of 11 – 1, Frenchie has been evicted from the Big Brother house. He asks for a group hug with everyone before walking out the door. Julie compliments Frenchie for keeping it classy. She asks Frenchie how he thinks he did as HoH. He says he wanted to make a change to the game, and he says he’s proud of how he played. Frenchie says the Slaughterhouse was built to keep the people he was nervous about close to him. Julie asks if he regrets not taking the two-week safety she offered him after his HoH win. He says he does not regret it since he wouldn’t have been HoH and had his kids’ pictures. Afterwards, the goodbye messages play. Tiffany says she respects Frenchie, Brent says Frenchie betrayed him first but it’s a game, Britini says she’s sorry that this happened, and Derek F. calls Frenchie his best friend.
It’s time for the HoH competition. They must answer a series of true or false questions based on videos of former Celebrity Big Brother Houseguest Tom Green talking to people on the street about Big Brother.
Question 1: Derek F., Britini, Brent, Christian, and Tiffany are eliminated.
Question 2: Azah is eliminated.
Question 3: Everyone left is correct.
Question 4: Claire and Whitney are eliminated.
Question 5: Xavier is the only one correct.
Xavier wins HoH!
Julie talks to the Houseguests before the end of the episode. Xavier says he feels good, and he’s looking forward to having photos of his family. Julie asks about Britini’s rap, and Britini admits she’s been practicing it since Sunday.
