To my pleasant surprise Wednesday’s Idol show was AWESOME. Let me start by just telling you about myself.. I just turned 15 in June and i am a sophomore in high school. My name is Tim and Ive been watching American Idol since season 4, but I’ve only been to one other concert (I’m pretty sure it was the Taylor Hicks one, i don’t even remember it wasn’t that great lol) but i have never written a review or anything so this will be my first one. Also please excuse any grammar errors or spelling mistakes, I’m rushing :) already a few days late.
So I’m a huge American Idol fan so i couldn’t wait to go to this concert, I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks. Unlike all the other reviews I’ve read i didn’t get to meet them or anything cool like that. I pretty much got there right as it started. I went with one of my really good friends who also loves the show, we both couldn’t wait.
anyways i’ll get to the point
Didi – so didi started off the show.. was it the best show opener? no it wasn’t, but was she good? i’d say so.. i liked terrified the best but still it didn’t blow me away or anything.. I told my friend that nobody was going to cheer for didi (just messing around cause i didn’t really remember her) and it was my friend’s favorite so off course when she came on she yelled and jumped up and down and everybody around us was just like.. um.. ? so it was quite embarrassing. I do remember her one performance “Play with Fire” from the show which i thought ROCKED but off course she didn’t sing it.. -.-
i give her a 5/10.. wish she put more energy into it :/
Andrew – He started off with Straight Up (surprise anyone?) this was like the one song everybody loved.. and also over praised.. he annoyed me alot on the show cause (and i know im not alone) because i thought he was one of the best based on Hollywood week, but he bombed pretty much every week and kept staying safe. I swore if Kara mentioned straight up one more time i’d explode.. i liked it more acoustically but it was alright with the band.. then he played Sunday Morning and i love that song.. i thought it fit its voice well!
7/10 .. he could of done worse.. much worse..
Kaitie – One of my biggest surprises of the night.. i always thought she had an awesome voice but if she just would of waited 2 more years she could of done MUCH better IMO.. cause she has alot of potential.. Here we go was her first song.. i guess it showed her young side? i thought it was awesome. Then she sang Fight which i thought she NAILED.. she was the biggest surprise to me..
8.9/10 nailed, nailed, NAILED it.. congrats to you
Tim – one of the more “obnoxious” contests to me if you say.. but i did think he had a few good weeks.. and again to my surprise he did very well.. i loved the first song he sang (goo goo dolls fan) and love the song viva la vida (coldplay fan) and he sounded very good overall…
7.2/10 good taste in music.. better days > Viva la vida
SIOBHAN – here we go.. my favorite contestant of this year.. i looked most forward to seeing her perform she was epic, epic i tell you EPIC.. i like everything about her style music etc. A lot of people think she’s weird.. but i think she is awesome. I was about to kill the judges over her though.. when they say she would “scream” or she was losing herself (i’m looking at you kara) I was so pissed i wish kara would get fired or something.. oh wait… anyways siobhan was the reason i watched the show this year even though i don’t really know how to spell her name or pronounce it.. she was the only exciting contestant when it comes down to it.. paint it black was awesome people went crazy when she “screamed” spiderwebs was.. weird? but catchy.. and then she sang Stockholm Syndrome and i like her 10X more now because muse is my all time favorite band, man she was just crazy.

Aaron – first of all i think it is hilarious his mom’s name is kelly kelly.. anyways sorry to disappoint you aaron fans but i was in a siobhan mood when he came out and ruined it :/ i’m not a country fan but i dont hate it.. i thought he did alright i guess? not much to say kind of bland.. but what do i know? everyone has been praising him.
6.9/10 again why don’t we try out 2 years from now?? like katie he could of been much more experienced.
– The Climb – i missed it because my friend wanted to buy a shirt so we left before the crowd (i’d say it was pretty packed) it sounded very nice

Big Mike!! – Home town baby!! i really liked him on the show and i thought he did awesome today.. the place went crazy for him.. i bet he had a lot of fans there.. the only song i knew by him was My love which i really enjoyed and one called I am ready for love (? i think).. i really liked that one also.. he got boring towards the end of the show but i really liked his sound and his voice..
8/10 his rapping was beast !
though i should skip him.. i wont Casey – my least favorite contestant this year.. there was not ONE week that i enjoyed of his.. not one.. from the moment he took his shirt off for kara in auditions i didn’t like him (urg kara again.. somebody fire her.. that’s right..) wait i did like one song he sang which was daughters (the one randy and kara picked) cause I’m a huge john mayer fan (hey good job kara) was he good today? no not at all.. i just don’t like him.. I’m at the point where I’m probably so closed minded about him no matter what he does i won’t like him. Also he was in the bottom 2 with siobhan when she got out .. so that made me even more furious.
4/10 i play guitar.. and he did some cool stuff so that earned him 4 points -XD
Crystal – so i know lots of people thought she got robbed at the finale and should of won.. i prefer lee but still she is awesome!!.. i’ve been reading shes done “great” or “good” but nobody really was saying how awesome she did etc.. so my expectations were not high at all but i thought she blew everyone away vocally .. it was awesome every single song was good.
9.8/10 shes gonna make it big!
Lee – now in the top 24 lee was the only one i liked (it wasn’t for like 2 weeks til i liked siobhan) because i liked rock/alternative and he has that kings of leon kind of voice so i knew he was going to make it far.. but i didn’t think he would win until like the final 6 contestants but i thought he deserved it and he did awesome at the concert.. and he is very grateful you can tell. Every song was good that he sang also..Honestly i don’t know which i liked more him or crystal.. seriously i cant chose its killing me!!
9.8/10 Treat her like a lady, beautiful day, Hallelujah, Use Somebody, and Rocket man being my favorites wait that was all of them.. -.-
so even though this season was more boring than the rest i thought it was an awesome concert.. i really enjoyed it.. and i hope that next season is good and all the new judges will be good and it can get its magic back cause its still my all time favorite show.. and will continue to be
i recommend anyone who is hesitant to buy a ticket now! they’re cheap!!
