American Idol XIII Preview: Judges on Idol Legacy, and Harry Connick Jr. Antics (VIDEO)

American Idol XIII begins in 5 days! Can you believe its almost here? Yahoo Music has an exclusive clip from next week’s American Idol premiere.

The preview I saw features Boston and Austin auditions. But it’s Detroit auditioner, Marrialle Sellars who opens the show, which morphs into the judges commenting on Idol’s 12 year legacy, and what it means to music and pop culture.

“American Idol has proven to deliver superstars,” says Ryan Seacrest. “It’s pretty special.”

Harry Connick Jr adds, “It’s an American institution. Its the way emerging artists are presented to the world.”

And bad news. Jennifer Lopez has her “first goosies.”

Check out this video featuring the antics of Harry Connick Jr. He’s going to be everyone’s favorite judge.
