American Idol 2022 Top 14 Reveal Polls: Who Was Robbed?

(ABC/Eric McCandless) ELLI ROWE

The American Idol Top 14 reveal predictions were spot on except for Dan Marshall. People, we can’t wish the guy away. He’s the only bro-country singer in the competition. Additionally, he’s a clean cut former football player. Tremendous vocals not required for him to stay in the competition, at least for awhile. He’s not going to win, but resign yourselves to the fact that he COULD go deep into the competition.

Jacob Moran was the miss. But the folks paying attention to socials saw that he garnered weak numbers. For whatever reason, America wasn’t connecting to his dramatic vocal. Christian Guardino is somewhat in the same lane, and that could have been a problem for Jacob.

The judges could only save four singers. Allegra Miles absolutely deserved the wildcard. The panel had to protect their Platinum Ticket winner, Jay. As far as Mike Parker is concerned, with the spotlight shining on Black country music singers the past few years, it’s not surprising TPTB would want to hold on to him. Plus, he’s turned in some solid performances. Tristan’s performances are uneven. But overall, he’s an entertaining guy. He could actually stick around for awhile longer.

There weren’t any tragedies tonight. Sure, I would trade Katyrah Love or Elli Rowe for Dan Marshall. But the contestants I really wanted to advance are living to sing another day.

American Idol goes coast to coast Sunday AND Monday!

Next week American Idol airs “coast to coast” which means the show will broadcast simultaneously in PT/MT/CT/ET time zones. Fans across the country can vote while watching the show. Results will be revealed by the end of the night. And here’s the thing: Both Sunday April 24 and Monday April 25 will air LIVE across all time zones. YES MONDAY TOO!

On Sunday, Season 16 alum Gabby Barrett will mentor the singers. THREE contestants will leave the competition. A Top 11 will remain.

On Monday’s episode, Idol has something called the “Judges Song Contest” going on. Here’s the official synopsis. It sounds like the contestants will choose from three songs, one from each judge. The judge with the most choices picked wins (maybe a fabulous prize?):

For the first time ever, “American Idol” superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will pick songs for each of the Top 11 to perform. Without knowing which judge offered the suggestion, each contestant will select their favorite song to perform, revealing the winning judge. Ryan Seacrest hosts “American Idol,” LIVE coast to coast, MONDAY, APRIL 25 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT/6:00-8:01 p.m. MDT/5:00-7:01 p.m. PDT), on ABC.

Airing coast to coast will make it even harder for NBC’s American Song Contest helmed by OG winner Kelly Clarkson to compete in the ratings. And what kind of epic troll is holding a “Judges Song Contest” to compete directly against NBC’s struggling new singing competition?

OK. Now it’s time to VOTE for your favorites below. Who was robbed?
