Tonight on American Idol, the Top 6 will perform TWO songs. The theme is “Arena Anthems.” Click for Song Spoilers.
American Idol 14 Chat with M&M- Top 6 Power List
Also, the Bottom Two will face off against each other in a sing off for your twitter vote. Which two singers are in jeopardy? Which singer will head home? Let’s examine the results of last week’s poll before I make a prediction.
American Idol 14 – Top 7 – Favorite Performance
Could the singer who scored the top spot in our favorites poll actually be headed home this week? Mac & I listed Rayvon Owen at the bottom of our power list this week, but his performance of “Always On My Mind” was so well regarded, maybe he’ll escape the bottom 2. Clark, who has been at the top of our polls week after week, is right behind Rayvon. It’s worth noting that this week, there is no overwhelming favorite in the category.
- Rayvon Owen – Always on my Mind 17.7%
- Clark Beckham – Superstition 15.76%
- Quentin Alexander – The Sound of Silence 11.8%
- Jax – Piece of My Heart 10.09%
- Nick Fradiani – Only the Good Die Young 9.86%
- Tyanna Jones – Proud Mary 6.44%
- Quentin Alexander – Are You Gonna Go My Way 6.29%
- Clark Beckham – Moon River 5.2%
- Nick Fradiani – American Girl 5.12%
- Joey Cook – Somebody to Love 4.89%
- Jax – Beat It 3.49%
- Joey Cook – My Funny Valentine 1.48%
- Rayvon Owen – Long Train Runnin 1.09%
- Tyanna Jones – Why Do Fools Fall in Love 0.78%
American Idol 14 – Top 7 – Favorite Contestant Overall
Yet, the guy who topped our performance poll is dead last in favorites. Hm. Quentin Alexander is second. He was the center of last week’s “Battle of New Orleans” as mentor, Scott Borchetta is annoyingly calling the tiff between the singer and Harry Connick Jr. on twitter (eff your hashtag, Scott). We generally love him here. But what about America?
- Clark Beckham 29.51%
- Quentin Alexander 20.99%
- Jax 14.3%
- Nick Fradiani 11.63%
- Tyanna Jones 8.59%
- Joey Cook 7.68%
- Rayvon Owen 7.3%
American Idol 14 – Top 7 – Who SHOULD go Home next week?
Even as Quentin scores high in our favorite contestant poll, 25% of the voters believe he SHOULD go home this week. Not a great sign. I’m getting my twitter vote finger ready as we speak.
- Rayvon Owen 37.96%
- Quentin Alexander 25.8%
- Jax 13.1%
- Nick Fradiani 10.51%
- Tyanna Jones 10.51%
- Clark Beckham 2.12%
American Idol 14 – Top 7 – Who WILL go Home next week?
More people believe Rayvon Owen is going home tonight. If he lands in the bottom, could he survive a 4th twitter face off? Does America find Quentin Alexander annoying and disrespectful? If Rayvon survives the bottom 2 this week, who would take his place?
- Rayvon Owen 41%
- Quentin Alexander 38.09%
- Tyanna Jones 9.81%
- Jax 6.08%
- Nick Fradiani 3.97%
- Clark Beckham 1.05%
Are you Team Harry Or Team Quentin?
According to the poll, Quentin Alexander has won our hearts, but has he won America’s?
- Team Quentin ALL THE WAY 65.29%
- Team Harry He was RIGHT 34.71%
Prediction: Now that we’re down to six contestants, it’s becoming downright painful to predict! Last week, my bottom two prediction of Rayvon and Joey Cook was right on the money. But I underestimated Rayvon’s ability to perform under pressure. I’m predicting a Quentin Alexander/Rayvon Owen bottom 2. If Rayvon escapes B2, it will be Tyanna Jones instead. Ugh. I don’t want to predict a Quentin boot. I DON’T WANT TO. But I think Quentin Alexander is going home this week. Scott Borchetta tried to make American Idol 14 the season of the quirky–but when has THAT ever worked out?
