The American Idol 10 Top 4 will be performing the songs of Lieber and Stoller–two of them in fact. I’m expecting lots and lots of Elvis and “Stand By Me”.
I’m reaaaly looking forward to Lady freaking Gaga mentoring the kids on these ancient songs. Good times.
It should be a really great week for Scotty McCreery, as he’ll be able to pull out that Elvis impersonation that went over so well a couple of weeks ago. Lauren and Haley should be able to find some suitable tunes too. James will be OK if he sticks to something rootsy, and couples it with a ballad.
Note to all 4: Stay away from the novelty items! “Poison Ivy” is a song that should never be sung on the Idol stage again (I’m looking at you, Anthony Fedorov).
