Adam Lambert on The View

In his interview segment on The View, which aired today, Adam repeated some of the stuff he told the Early Show:   His racy performance moves were done in the heat of the moment, It’s not his job to babysit people’s kids, etc. Also, he stressed that he’s not obligated to cater to the family-friendly Idol crowd now that the contest is over.

He’s learned from the experience, and will be careful to keep his rehearsal and live performances identical.

The View ladies were very solicitous–they didn’t grill him at all. Sherri asked a few probing questions–specifically about the Idol crowd expecting one performance but getting another. On the other hand, Elisabeth was surprisingly supportive– she felt the AMA performance was appropriate for the 11 pm hour and called Adam “a really nice guy.”

Unfortunately,   Whoopie was in the UK at the time of the taping.

Sorry to say, no throwdowns! But there was lots of pimping of the album. Everyone in the audience got a free CD. Adam also got the opportunity to promote his fundraising for DonorsChoose.org.

After a break, Adam performed “Whataya Want From Me” and like all his other TV performances of the tune–it was fabulous.

FYI: Adam’s Larry King Live appearance, orginally set for tonight has been CANCELED. An appearance on E’s Chelsea Lately show on December 16 has been added to the schedule…

UPDATE: Tweeted from Larry King Live: “We’re hoping @AdamLambert will reschedule with us. He said he’s cutting back on interviews so he can focus on his music again.”

Seriously, time to stop talking about the AMA’s. It’s already redundant…
