50th Annual Grammy Awards

Final: The Idols were pretty much shut out of all their categories. (See below).   Daughtry, Fantasia and Mandisa were completely shut out.

The White Stripes, Foo-Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys–deserved their awards. Nothing more to say, really.

The 50th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast tonight by CBS 8 PM ET. Check out the list of Idol nominees. It’s pretty impressive. In all, there are 7 Idols nominated for awards: Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson, Mandisa, Jennifer Hudson and Ace Young.

  • Maroon 5, “Make Me Wonder” won Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals beating out Daughtry for “Home”.
  • The White Stripes, “Icky Thump” won for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals beating out Daughtry “It’s Not Over.”

  • Ne-yo won Best Contemporary R&B album for Because of You beating out Fantasia for Fantasia.
