She discusses her sudden celebrity (she’s still getting used to it), taking criticism from the judges (“It wasn’t personal…it’s a big game”) and her “stage mom”, who Katharine says has her own hopes and aspirations (she blames herself for creating that image of her mom by “heightening” some aspects of their relationship during her audition–for the sake of her backstory).
