Ace Young News

Some of you have been asking about Ace Young.  He’s been a busy guy since the finale.  Here’s some news by way of his brother Ryan who runs Ace’s official website.  Ace also has an official myspace

News gathered from Ryan Young’s newsletter:

Ace performed the National Anthem before John Elway’s Colorado Crush playoff game on May 28th.  He participated in the half-time show.  Ryan explains,  “which began with Ace singing ‘Father Figure’ while being lowered on cables 140 feet from the ceiling of the Pepsi Center to the floor.” (that must have been a sight…)

May 31st, Ace attended the Angels/Twins game in Anaheim for another performance of the National Anthem.  He sang ‘Take me Out to the Ballgame’ at the 7th inning stretch from the roof of the Twins dugout.  According to Ryan, “It took Ace 60 minutes to climb 50 rows with 4 security guards to return to his seats!”

Lots of acrobatics for Ace at these appearances, eh? Heh.

Next on the itinerary–Ace’s Homecoming party in Denver the following weekend. He performed at  Club Spy-Buck Wild.  Fans flew in from all over the country for the event.  Earlier in the day, he was greeted by a few hundred fans when he arrived at Alice 105.9 for an interview and meet and greet.  Later that night at Club Spy-Buck Wild, Ace performed the self-penned tune, “Scattered”.

Back in California,  Ace performed at the Brea Summerfest Benefit in Orange County, along with Reuben Studdard, Kimberly Caldwell and Peter Frampton.  He performed  “Father Figure”,  Aerosmith’s “Dream On”, and “Scattered” for a crowd of 10, 000.

Later, Ace flew to Orlando, FL to sing for a Kelloggs Foods corporate event, before flying to New York to appear on the Today show to promote People’s “Hottest Bachelors”.  Ace is featured in the issue.  He’s now back in LA rehearsing for the Idols tour.
