The holiday season has begun in earnest,  keeping the Idols busy.  Some like Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, Fantasia and Kellie Pickler are out promoting new albums.  Others are performing at special holiday functions.

Saturday, December 9

  • George Huff performs tonight, tomorrow and next weekend as part of Christmas on Main Street at the First Presbyterian Church, Salinas CA.  Check here for more information.  George will be backed by a full orchestra and band. $7 general/$3 for ages 12 and under.
  • Ace Young travels to Clevland, OH to appear at the Q104 AQstic Christmas Concert at the Hanna Theatre.  Check here for more info.  Tickets are $20.  Matt Kearney is also appearing.
  • Jasmine Trias joins her fellow Hawaiian-Filipinos celebrate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first Filipino immigrants to the islands.  She’ll be appearing at the Centenial Grand Finale tonight, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  There’s more information about the celebration here

Sunday, December 10

Monday December 11

  • Carrie Underwood shares the spotlight with Josh Groban and Tony Bennett on the Oprah Winfrey show. She’ll be performing a few of her hits.
  • Ace Young continues to promote his single “Scattered” (available on iTunes).  He’ll be appearing at the Kelly lounge in Bakersfield California.  The show is sponsored by Kelly 95.3.
  • Fantasia appears on Live with Regis and Kelly to promote her self titled album.  Her CD drops on December 12.  Check local listings for time and channel.
  • Taylor Hicks continues his CD promo tour, appearing with the harpies ladies of The View.  Check your local listings for time and channel.

Tuesday December 12

  • Chris Daughtry will be performing at  at WTIC’s All-Star Christmas 2006 show in Hartford, CT.  Tickets can be purchased at  Ticketmaster.
  • Taylor Hicks performs “The Runaround” on the CBS Early show 7-9am
  • Taylor Hicks appears on MSNBC’s Scarborough Country at 9p ET
  • Fantasia appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Wednesday December 13

  • Taylor Hicks gets down with the kids on MTV’s Total Request Live.  3:30 pm ET/PT
  • Taylor Hicks is a featured performer in TNT’s annual presentation of Christmas in Washington.  Taylor, along with other artists, will perform for the Washington elite, including the President and First Lady.  10 pm on TNT.  Check you local cable listings for channel.
  • Clips of Christmas and Washington will be featured on today’s Dr. Phil show.  Dr. Phil and his wife host the event.  Check your local listings for time and channel.  Taylor Hicks may be featured in a clip.
  • Taylor Hicks helps Martha Stewart make a “fragrant holiday garland” on her show today.  I’m not kidding, peeps–the info comes straight from Martha’s website.  He also teaches Martha how to play the harmonica (woulda been a nice time-killer in the slammer).  And,  finally (Thank Finn), he performs “Runaround”.  Check your local listings for time and channel.

Thursday, December 14

  • Jennifer Hudson performs a song from her upcoming movie “Dreamgirls” on The Today Show.

Friday December 15

  • Kellie Pickler performs her single “Red High Heels” on the Ellen Degeneres show. Check your local listings for time and channel.
  • George Huff performs tonight as part of Christmas on Main Street at the First Presbyterian Church, Salinas CA.  Check here for more information.  George will be backed by a full orchestra and band. $7 general/$3 for ages 12 and under.
  • Ace Young opens for Smashmouth at the House of Blues in Orlando, FL for the Mix 105.1 Merry Mixmas show, 8 PM.  Tickets are $15.  Find more information and tickets here.  By the way, all these radio appearances are paying off.  “Scattered”,  his independently released single, is #53 and climbing on the Mediabase Hot AC airplay chart.
  • Another Idol promoting an independent release is Jon Peter Lewis.  He makes a return appearance to the Viper Room in Los Angeles. You can buy tickets on line here.  Did I mention I really like his album “Stories From Hollywood”?  Ha ha, I know, several times… It’s available at Amazon, iTunes and Rhapsody.
