Taylor Hicks in the Studio
According to Gray Charles Taylor Hicks will spend his first full day in the recording studio today working on his upcoming album with producer Matt Serletic. Taylor’s rehearsals are also being recorded for future play at rehearsals.com, so watch for that.
Elliott Yamin Still Working on a Deal
From a recent Richmond Times-Dispatch interview with Elliott Yamin: Elliott confirms that he doesn’t have a recording contract at the present time, but that he will be laying down some tracks in the studio beginning October 15:
“No, I do not have a record deal, ” Yamin said. “I’m just recording songs for my album. The record deal will come. I think we’re still entertaining offers — that’s something my manager is working on.”
Yamin has his first recording session Oct. 15 in Los Angeles, where he plans to move once he has time to find a place to live.
“I’ll be recording in L.A. or wherever I have to go to work and to gig and just do whatever I can to stay busy, ” he said. “I’ve started to write a song or two. I’ll be writing with some other producers.”
Elliott is in Birminham this week rehearsing with Taylor Hicks’ bandmates, the Little Memphis Blues Orchestra who will back him when he performs for the Virginia State Fair this Sunday.
