UPDATE: Simon Cowell tweeted next week’s theme, “The theme next week is divas, I expect brilliance from everyone, one d proved tonight how this show can change your life. Use it.

Pop superstar, Taylor Swift is set to perform on next week’s X Factor results show on November 15. Check out the press release below. But if you don’t want results spoilers, you may want to avoid reading!

Tonight, on the first LIVE results show of the season, it was announced that Jason Brock, one of L.A. Reid’s Over 25 finalists, was eliminated on THE X FACTOR. Hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez announced that Brock and Cece Frey received the fewest votes following last night’s performance show. Then, judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Britney Spears listened to Brock and Frey each perform their “song for survival.” After the judges came to a deadlock, Brock was sent home, based on the number of America’s votes he received. Also tonight, for the first time on any singing competition ever, this week’s individual vote rankings were revealed, from the bottom 12th act to the No. 1 vote-getter.

Earlier in the show, One Direction – the global sensation that rose to fame on the U.K. version of “The X Factor” – performed “Live While We’re Young” and “Little Things.”

Next week, on Wednesday, Nov. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), THE X FACTOR finalists: Teens – Beatrice Miller, Arin Ray, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Diamond White; Young Adults – CeCe Frey, Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas; Over 25s – Vino Alan and Tate Stevens; and Groups – Emblem3, Fifth Harmony  and Lyric 145 – perform LIVE for America’s votes.

Immediately after the performance show, fans will be able to vote via 1) Verizon Touch Voting on The Xtra Factor App on Verizon Android devices; 2) toll-free calling; 3) text messaging for Verizon Wireless customers; and 4) online at TheXFactorUSA.com. Fans with valid Facebook accounts can also vote at Facebook.com/TheXFactorUSA.

On Thursday, Nov. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), six-time Grammy-winning superstar Taylor Swift will take to The X FACTOR stage for the first-ever television performance of “State of Grace,” from her blockbuster new album, “Red.” Then, find out who moves on in the competition and who is sent home, when the results of America’s votes are revealed LIVE.

Swift, a six-time Grammy Award winner, is the youngest winner in the history of the music industry’s highest honor: the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. She recently released her fourth studio album, “Red,” to rave reviews and record-breaking sales, selling more than 1.2 million copies in its first week of release. Writing all of her own songs, Swift has career record sales in excess of 22 million albums and 50 million song downloads, and her two most recent albums are two of only 18 albums in the entire history of music to sell more than one million copies in a single week. She has had singles top both the country and pop radio charts around the globe, and has thus far scored 11 No. 1 singles across multiple radio formats. She is one of the Top Five-selling digital music artists worldwide, and is the top-selling digital artist in country music history. Time magazine has named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She is also Billboard magazine’s youngest-ever Woman of the Year, and her more than 100 industry awards include the American Music Awards’ Artist of the Year, as well as the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year.

Wow, I’m actually impressed. Simon and Fox are going all out to get those viewers! Who knows, maybe a Lady Gaga/Madonna duet is planned for the Thanksgiving special!

This might even get Tate more voters in ;)

  • jlscott13

MJ, thank you for saying POP. ;)

And UGH, do we really need another performance from her? I like her album and all…but damn…I’m so over her right now…

Taylor isn’t that good of a live singer. Seems strange for a live singing show. I get it she’s a hot commodity but really?

  • Klaine

What was the point of releasing positions & are they gonna do it every week?. It feels manipulative and trying to encourage votes for lower ranked & over confidence for top. Just think Simon wants to make sure he gets emblem 3 to finals. Surprised country guy was on top but still doubtful he’d win.
Khloe & Britney continue to be weak; Simon & esp LA are totally annoying ; Demi has been the breakout star,& Mario has shown he’s developed into the Hispanic Seacrest

  • Klaine

Also I didn’t like them bringing diamond
    .
I thought she should ve stayed but wju do they have rules if Simons gonna bring back a random person. And aren’t the judges supposed to also be competing (maybe they need a financial incentive to win)..why does Brit get to keep an extra ‘amazing’ singer
.powers that be all felt Britney made the wrong decision.didn’t they discuss who should be eliminated first. What they should do in the future is let viewers vote on which of the 4 that judges voted off do they wanna bring back
    At least be fair

But agsom why announce where they ranked. Sabotage and manipulation

Taylor seems very nice, but there are so many mire talented singers out there.  She has a fanatstic marketing and managing firm.  Pretty soon we will see a “Taylor Swift” doll!  Watch out for it.

True, but once they hired Britney to judge live singing, I think that opened the door for established stars who aren’t great live singers. At least, Taylor doesn’t lip synch and most of the time, her singing is OK, if not great. She’s a really good performer though.

Sorry, but I actually lol’ed when I read the bolded part.

lolol, of course Simon’s bringing in TSwift. Viewers, viewers, viewers!

My first reaction to the vote “standing” reveal was “I wish they’d do this on every singing show!” It’s interesting to me that so many people think this is manipulative. I’m sure that’s part of it, but hasn’t XF:UK always revealed vote standing? Maybe not exactly in this same way, but I think I’ve seen weekly standings on Wikipedia before when I’ve looked at various UK seasons.

I do think it gives all the judges a good grasp on what they need to work on with their contestants. And part of me wonders – if Simon made the call to do this (which… not completely sure it would be solely his call), how much of it was because of his acts placing lower than he’d like, and how much of it was to let Demi know “I was right” about her acts? Simon’s self-absorbed enough & has enough of a drive to be “right” that I could see that factoring in, too.

  • vdawg

Thanks for the warning. I will not be tuning in to watch Taylor Swift.  For that matter if they want to to a little cost cutting drop Khloe and just have Mario who does a great job.

Pretty soon we will see a “Taylor Swift” doll!  Watch out for it.

Actually, Google for it. There’s a Taylor Swift Performance Collection (doll sings), a Taylor Swift Fashion Collection (doesn’t sing), at least one that comes with a juke box for karaoke, and sets of clothes that can be purchased separately. The best I can determine is that these were introduced in 2008 and the manufacturer is Jaks Pacific. Amazon and Walmart both sell at least some of them, for your holiday shopping needs.

Well on a show that doesn’t have very good live singers, you don’t want to get someone too good, to make everyone else look bad.  Thus the One Direction and Taylor Swift choices.

There are a lot of offensive commentaries towards Tate Stevens on YT. From his country status, his age, “being a redneck” to his political views that we don’t have a clue about. I hope he continues to be the first every single week and wins the whole thing :)

On the UK they release the vote totals at the end of the series, after the winner is crowned.  Of course this was brought in to manipulate viewers.  There is no way it would have been done if a favourite was topping the vote.  I would say that Simon went into full on panic mode when he saw Tate was topping the votes after all his effort to pimp Emblem3 and the girlband. He even tweeted later to remember to vote for your favourite so results like this don’t happen (implying that Tate isn’t really popular, he just got more votes..)
