After a summer of Big Brother it is good to be writing about something to do with Survivor. As reported on EW.com earlier today the line between Big Brother and Survivor has been crossed. Entertainment Weekly revealed the first two cast members to be Survivor: One World’s Kat Edorsson and her boyfriend, Big Brother season 12 champ Hayden Moss.
For those who don’t remember Kat from Survivor: One World (which wouldn’t surprise me since the season was a forgettable one and the last season to air that did not include returning players) she filled the role of the ditzy blonde. She was actually one of the more enjoyable players that season but that is not saying much. But she did have this moment:
For those who remember no one from Survivor: One World was chosen for last seasons Fans Vs. Favorites which made total since at the time since it was arguable the worst season ever so why would they bring back Kat now. I think the major reason is that she is currently dating a Big Brother winner and CBS wants to use that cross promotion to boost ratings.
Big Brother season 12 was one of the better seasons of Big Brother although it did introduce the world to Brenchal. Also Hayden has shown that he can form a solid alliance since “The Brigade” was one of the better alliances in Big Brother history.
The real test is whether people will trust him playing the game for the long term. Big Brother is a game full with lies (not that Survivor is a honest game but just saying) so castaways may be scared to truly trust him. I think it will be impossible to hide who he is since Survivor alums tend to stay close outside the game and chances at least one other past player will know him. He will lead to just work to gain trust and hope he can build a solid alliance like he did in Big Brother.
With these two being announced it does look like the spoilers are correct with who the case will be made up of.
