Whenever Siobhan starts to shriek my dog runs under the couch. LOL! To call her sharp is to be generous.

siobhan has a lovely voice till she shrieks i enjoyed that performance (wish she’d leave the shriek at home lol)

  • fuzzywuzzy

I liked Siobhan’s performance until that shriek. My cat ran out of the room!

Siobhan’s performance was great. Lot’s of attitude and and I loved the wail! I have a feeling she gained some new fans in Philly today.

  • jack5791

Siobhan was amazing! That song is perfect for her… what a voice.

BOth Justin and Siobhan sounded great. AI does find some wonderful singers. I’m not fond of Siobhan’s scream, but it wasn’t annoying in this and it was just in one part of the song.

  • Esqt

Siobhan did great. When she shrieked, my cockatoo screamed, “Awesome! Awesome!”

  • marco5ny

Siobhan is a fine singer but the shreiking is so divisive. Until that scream midway into the song, I was loving it. Even though the rest of the song was good, my mood had soured on the performance. I listened to it a few times and was able to shut out that one misstep and appreciate the effort. She could be more successful if she just had a bit more control in when and how to use that upper register.

Justin sounded fine, looks good and fills out those jeans nicely. I just don’t see anything special in him but he’s got enough to make a living in entertainment I guess. Anyone seen him in “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown?”

I’m pretty sure the wail wasn’t a misstep – it was intentional. Glad you could block it out if that’s what was necessary for you to enjoy her performance, but nobody should have to do that. It sounds like Siobhan just isn’t your cup of tea.

So she intentionally tries to burst my ear drums? Hmmm. Interesting. I’ve always felt Siobhan likes hitting those notes so she does it, and she doesn’t give a fig how awful it is to hear in every single song. That’s not interpretation, that’s a sledgehammer. Seriously, I’m trying to give the girl a chance, but between the weird way she sticks out her butt and the creepy smile and the NOTE – I think it’s game over for our feisty friend.

  • ShukiKato

And Justin was good too, just don’t really love his voice or anything.

  • jammasta

I kinda have a hard time believing anyone’s dog, cat, or cockatoo or really has such a strong reaction to Siobhan screaming :P. Maybe I’m just a grouch.

At any rate, I love Siobhan and loved that. It was kinda entertaining to hear her shriek again, though the slide-up (I know there’s a choir term for it! I just forgot what it was) to the end of the scream kinda “skipped” at the end, made it sound like her scream literally pushed the crap out of her pants. Gross.

  • ShukiKato

Yeah, I was going to say it sounded just like the “Think” note. Except in “Think” it really fit the song (especially in the JM concert) and here it didn’t really. Still love it though:)

  • marco5ny

I agree her scream was intentional. Indeed, I’m sure much thought went into her decision to throw in what has become her signature. Definitely no accident. I thought it was a stylistic blunder, poor judgment. Like Michael Jordan’s baseball career. Or New Coke.

  • singer man

i think that it’s tragic that siobhan, along with big mike are not signed,i mean what gives

if i was 19r i’d be all over that

    same for other labels,wake up

  • chearts77

I’m not a Siobhan fan, mainly because I can’t tolerate the wails…but I have to admit, she did a good job here. The “wail” wasn’t long and drawn out like she usually does. Maybe she’s learning to curve that a bit. I find when she tries to hold it for too long, that’s when it goes all over the place. Nice job here, though. :)

  • abbysee

I just wanted to add, that I love Justin Guarini, and wish him success. He’s a good singer, and just plain adorable.

  • hapi

They both did a great job. It was entertaining. I’m 70 and I liked Siobhan’s scream. There are times when her scream in a song sounds slightly off key but usually I like it. Most parade songs are boring. These weren’t.

  • ghg

Most parade songs are boring. These weren’t.

Not sure if the big note fitted the song, but I agree, Siobhan can never be accused of being boring.

  • Grammie Kari

Both Siobhan and Justin did a nice job! Siobhan has so much talent and a gorgeous voice. All she needs is a good manager to put it all out there for her. She was the most interesting contestant in Season 9. I wish her the very best!

  • RockiDreams

As always thanks for the video of Siobhan. I always enjoy her singing and watching her – the only one that was even remotely interesting last season in AI, at least to me. As an aside, my cat was just fine with her performance.

  • Suzanne

Both of these performances were way better than watching Kanye West lip synch to his new CD over at the Macy’s parade.

I don’t love the scream thing that Siobhan does, but she wasn’t sharp. She hit her target note. I thought she sounded really good and her perf was a good R &B sound that played well in the City–I’m from Philly.

I also thought it was great that the Eagles cheeleaders were dressed for the weather. Women are so often put in outfits that are sexy and freezing.

Justin Guarini was good, kind of Las Vegas lounge-singer-y, but good. The High School choir behind him–very good.

Philly did a way better job than Macy’s, getting these supporting choirs and the Eagles cheerleaders dancers together and all. .

Siobhan was perfect on this song! Her vocals were beautiful, and I loved the vibe she put to it. The wail came out awesome too. It’s amazing how these kind of songs fits her so well. Even though she personally likes the ‘harder’ rock type of music, I still think this style suits her better.

  • tigervixxxen

A nice event for Sibobhan to show off her style of vocals. She looked cute and like she was having fun.

  • Willis

I loved Siobhan. She was always my season 9 fav. She should get into an indy movie or something.

  • iluvai

Siobhan is awesome. I loved it! The scream/shriek comments crack me up! That’s a rock and roll voice! And I would never define it as screamy or shrieky. So funny.
