Host Ryan Seacrest told the Today show this morning that we’ll see the “sparks fly” between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj right out of the gate tonight, when the New York City auditions kick off the American Idol premiere. Apparently, the two squabbled in the elevator on the first day, and we’ll see that on the show.

Ryan readily admited that the contestants will have to share headlines with the famous judges this season, which I don’t think is a good thing. But what do I know.

Ryan also visited Live with Kelly and Michael this morning. We catch a glimpse of GPS (the Sikh fellow).  Ryan talks about the disagreement that will open the show. At the end of the day, Ryan swears, the judges hug and they laugh. Alrighty then.

I can’t help but think the real reason Nicki and Mariah aren’t getting along is because Mariah wanted to be the only female judge.  Maybe it would’ve been better to have just Mariah, Keith and another male (not named Randy).

I’m so tired of the whole “two strong-willed women can’t work together” meme, and even if it’s true in this case, it is WAY old and quite frankly, I don’t want to hear another word. Period.

Or, maybe it would be better to ditch Mariah and Randy and get two new judges?

I agree, hopefully the contestants aren’t overshadowed by this. That is the main reason why a lot of us watch this show.

I can’t help but wonder if  Nigel is getting all this drama to the live shows, by dividing the top 12 into #TeamNicki and #TeamMariah.

Bleh.  Nasti Minaj has killed it for me.  Won’t watch a second of her – I’ll just hang out here and keep up with what’s going on.

And Ryan is directed to be all coy about this in an interview because, um Nigel doesn’t want the judges to overshadow the contestants? Nigel doesn’t want to give the impression that he has feuding judges? Nigel isn’t trying to stir some sh!t?  Oh, none of the above? Ryan is acting as Nigel’s mouthpiece and pulling a TMZ? Of course he is. How boring.

“..quite frankly, I don’t want to hear another word. Period.”

That would work for me. Also provides another reason not to watch the taped audition episodes.

Wasn’t Nicki 2 hours late for the first day of auditions? I’m not surprised more people didn’t get into an argument with her on the way up in the elevator, on the sidewalk, in the break room.

So ridiculous! This kind of nonsense on the Voice would be highly ridiculed by AI lovers but is tolerated here! Shouldn’t it always be about the contestants? Stop the silliness please!

I just can’t help but wonder how much of this “feud” will be manufacturer and how much is real.

We watched the first !st Idol auditions show and half the 2nd before nausea overcame us. Minaj and Carey are not the stars of this show and ought’a be sacked. C’mon Ryan, do your job and get these two fired!
