American Idol alum, Lee DeWyze, previews a new song for his fans.

The pretty tune has yet to be titled. But here’s a sample lyric:

“The only thing that’s bringing me in…is the taste of your lips and the smell of your skin…”

    Wow…I can’t believe I’m about to say this–but that was a really great song from Lee. Like good enough I would buy that thing. I like something Lee did? Am I in an alternate universe?

    I love this! This is pretty much in the style of his first pre idol album which I love so much. :) I don’t care what others say, Lee has one of the most unique and best voice ever for an idol. I just love it.

    Really pretty song!  Sounds very much like his pre-idol music.  Can’t wait to hear a studio version of this song.

    I really love this-a beautiful melody and heartfelt lyrics. He is so good at conveying emotion.
    I have eclectic tastes and like a wide variety of music, but Lee’s folk rock songs are my favorites.

    Very nice of Lee to post a song spontaneously like that, I love getting the sneak preview of something he’s working on. This is the style I was expecting for his new album, can’t wait to hear more. I really like this song, especially the chorus, it’s striking.

    Even from this short preview you can tell what an beautiful song this is. The lyrics are heart melting and fit the melody so well.  Lee has been working so hard at songwriting and between this and his other new songs we’ve heard I beLeeve the new album will be amazing!

    Not bad. His voice is pretty good for this sort of thing. Honestly I think within idol bubble, either Cook and Kris are seriously overrated, or Lee is seriously underrated. To me, they’re just different shade of WGWG, lol.

    Pretty song, but not blown away.  My daughter runs in a crowd of local musicians who write their own songs and play in local pubs and coffee houses.  Lee sounds about on par with my daughter’s friends.  Pleasant, pretty and nice to listen to but not very unique.  Maybe I am not giving her friends enough credit and they are better than I think.

    Love the song…and the guitar.  So pretty.  Been to lots of pub and coffee houses…this is much better than average (but there are lots of talented folks out there).  Lee is quite a prolific songwriter…has been for several years.

    This is really nice! His pre-Idol music is definitely worth checking into. A lot of stuff similar this song. He doesn’t get enough credit sometimes. He’s really talented.

    Sad that things didn’t go so well with his post-Idol album. Here’s to the future, though! :)

    It is short but pretty. I really like the way his music has turned lately, his music is just to sit down and enjoy, it gives you a feeling of calm and ease. And I still find his voice/tone so differently good!

    Wow, I finally figured out how to get a message posted.  I am a long time fan of Mr. DeWyze and I have to say, I really like this song.  I hope it’s one that will make it on his new album.  As much writing as he seems to be doing, he probably has enough for 4 albums!! I do have to say that the guitar melody on this song is stunning.  very soothing.

    aprilfoolish – I agree with you that the guitar melody is stunning.  I can’t wait to hear the whole song.  Thanks for sharing the lyrics.  I remember Ryan from Wuli said that Lee always have a hard time when it comes to his song title.  
    Did Lee decided on the title of this one?
