Lazaro Arbos: One of The Remaining Girls is Crazy and Thinks She’s in the Hunger Games (POLL)

According to freshly eliminated American Idol 12 contestant, Lazaro Arbos, one of the remaining girls REALLY wants to win American Idol. He’s not naming naming, but in an interview with ABC News Radio, he questions the unnamed contestant’s mental health AND makes comparisons to the Hunger Games! VIA ABC News Radio

“I’m not gonna say names and I don’t wanna sound rude,” Lazaro told ABC News Radio backstage at Live with Kelly & Michael earlier in the week. “But I think that one woman in particular is cra-a-a-a-z-y and she wants to win!”

Lazaro would not say if the contestant was Kree, Candice, Amber, Angie or Janelle, but he thinks that she — whoever she is — needs to chill out. Big time.

“She thinks that we’re in The Hunger Games and she’s fighting for her life,” dished Lazaro about the mystery contestant. “She needs to realize that it’s not about winning: it’s about what you do after the show.” As he points out, “The people that win are sometimes less successful than the people that don’t win.”

This crew is full of smack talkers! There was Curtis and Angie who appeared to be unhappy about Lazaro’s continued presence in the competition. And there were tweets of celebration between Curtis and Burnell when Lazaro was finally eliminated.

I’ve never seen so much public backbiting between the contestants during the competition in all the years I’ve been watching Idol.

So kids. Who do you think it is? I have my guess, but I’m going to keep it to myself for now.  I probably shouldn’t have added Amber to the poll. He’s been telling everyone he can to vote for her, despite being forbidden by TPTB to endorse any of the remaining contestants.

Just for fun? Take our poll:

    I think it’s Candice.

  • pj

I put my money on Angie. Just a hunch.

  • Miss Blue

This kid is just a slime ball. I’m sorry, but accusing somebody of being mentally ill is not “talking smack”. It’s beyond the pale. Just so you know, Laz – karma is a bitch and she’s got your name.

  • Weebs787

I think he’s had an out of body experience and is actually talking about himself……

I would die if it were really sweet angel marshmallow Janelle.

  • samuelgrant

    Plot twist: It’s Kree

  • raya

I’d put my money on Angie as well. I have a hard time seeing Kree, Janelle or Candice in that role, not that I’m necessarily taking Lazaro at his word. That said, this crew is too much. I don’t care about this year’s tour, but I would pay money to watch raw unedited footage of what goes on behind the scenes. Yikes.

  • Rand

Just by reading the headline I thought of Angie, would not doubt it actually.

  • Jason Scott

That’s what I was just thinking. Overall the season has been zzz, but this drama is so juicy.

  • BurnThis2

Seems obvious he’s means Angie. I’ve never seen a season like this, with so much backbiting and smack talking.

  • Stooch

The more I see his character, the more revealing the type of person he is becomes clear. Lets just cast a shadow over everybody

  • blackberryharvest

Its things like these that make me want a “Tell all” book from all the seasons. Is it bad that I find this gossip somewhat entertaining?

  • tigervixxxen

Isn’t it a good thing to want to win? The whole “losers do better than winners blah blah” meme is so overblown. There are only a small handful that have an even more unlikely if they don’t make it to second place at least. It was disturbing to me how many of the guys told Slezak in Idolatry that they didn’t want to win, they were not ready for it blah blah. Of course I’d hope the contestants are cordial and supportive of each other but it IS a competition with a pretty big prize and they should be focused on winning it.

  • tripp_ncwy

“The people that win are sometimes less successful than the people that don’t win.”

I doubt Lazaro will have to worry about being more successful than someone who did not win idol.

  • HermeticallySealed

My guess is Angie, as well. She has always came off sort of calculating and, well, hungry for lack of a better term.

  • No Thanks

There have been contestants with bad attitudes before, but they USUALLY wait until AFTER the show to talk smack. I’m surprised that some of these kids are stupid enough to talk shit DURING the show while the voting rounds are still happening. Never mind that they’re going to have to spend the summer with each other in close quarters.

Common sense seems to be lacking in this bunch.

  • halo9125

The second I saw this I thought Angie- there’s something about her (maybe it’s the fact that her eyes look like they are popping out of her head) that screams “manic” to me.

  • bobo

I’m gonna assume it’s Angie, because obviously no love is lost between the two. However, Lazaro is immature and vindictive in his post-idol comments, and while there may be a grain of truth here, he ought to be a little more dignified in defeat if he wants any respect. He reminds me of Alex Lambert who did similar things after he got the boot. A little cray cray.

  • EmmaCT

Hence, in a nutshell, what is wrong with Season 12.

  • jms

UGGGGH. All this backbiting and smack talking is quite annoying. I have to admit, it’s slightly entertaining though.

Money’s on Angie. She just seems like that type of person and I feel like from the contestants dishing on each other she seems most likely to be overly serious about this.

  • elliegrll

Lazaro has his own issues, so it’s hard to take him seriously. He seems to have a problem with Angela, so I would guess that he is referring to her, but I have a feeling that the description doesn’t fit who she really is, and has more to do with how Lazaro views anyone who doesn’t bow down to him.

  • jms

It probably kind of is, but if it is bad I’m right there with you :P.

  • Philip Dudley

Angie. She has had too much Jesus Juice. PTL

  • Xentusk

I say Angie too…. then again, she did do the duet with him…if she was “Hunger Games” about winning, you would think she would have tried anything to not be the one dueting with the Lazbatross :P

  • Tinawina

    My Lord. What an ass.

I would like to line up half this year’s cast and just give them a kick in the pants. Jeebus.

  • Ryan

Hmm, I REALLY can’t see it being Janelle, Kree, or Candice. They are all really laid back and are the most “grateful just to be here another week” people left. I would have assumed Amber, but I seriously doubt Lazaro would talk like this about her. That leaves it to Angie, who I could potentially see really wanting to win, but considering Angie and Lazaro clearly aren’t great friends, there’s a very good chance he’s over exaggerating. However, I don’t see her as being psychotic to win at all, but I’m sure she, like the others, would ideally like to win.

  • Valarie

I never did ‘get’ Lázaro. I don’t watch the early rounds, so I can’t fall victim to sob stories and producer manipulation. I don’t see. The Lázaro that I saw, came through my TV screen as smug, untalented, and unlikable.

  • Wfish88

LOL @ Lazaro…. This guy is going to make things Akward on the tour. But I think it’s Angie because his sister called her fake & bashed her publicly on twitter

  • Brittany Keener

TBH….if I was on the show, that would describe me. lol.

  • raya

Because we should really take Lazaro at his word in terms of diagnosing someone with a mental illness?

  • mjsbigblog

Has anybody seen the movie “Saved!”? Angie reminds me of the Mandy Moore character. lol.

  • Team Jessica Sanchez

    Gots to be Angie.

  • Team Jessica Sanchez

…and honestly…i’d rather watch what happens behind the scenes on the tour bus than watch the actaul competition…now THAT show would be worth watching!

  • justmefornow

….”This crew is full of smack talkers!”
LOL. You got that right. What a bunch of Divas. Too bad they don’t express some of this this ballsy attitude on stage.

  • cerise

What’s with the contestants this year with such bad attitude?

Lazaro has been so delusional that I find it hard to take his comments seriously.

As if having the boys not liking him isn’t enough, he now wants to piss off a girl as well. Gonna be a LONG tour for him.

  • Eilonwy

Putting out vague gossip that will coat in mud whichever remaining singer is most polarizing, regardless of whether it’s true of ANY of them?

Arbos is a very skilled manipulator with certain segments of the Idol audience, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to work with him.

  • vd88

PPL always talk about the backbiting this season between contestants, who is the common denominator in all this so called animosity, Lazaro. Everyone else seems to get along fine, Lazaro is the one that the cast doesn’t seem to care for and can you blame them. Every single negative thing had to do with Lazaro and look something else negative having to do with Lazaro.

  • Jake W.

Candice or Angie. But Lazaro is still a baby, because obviously the contestants should be fighting for their lives. It’s a chance at a recording contract that could change their lives forever. Can he disappear into obscurity already? Ugh!

  • HermeticallySealed

    OMG, yes!! LoL

I can just see her throwing a bible at Lazaro shouting “I am full of Christ’s love!”

  • jtgraffix

Probably the only movie where i could tolerate Mandy Moore on screen.

    “I…crashed my van into Jesus!”

  • Weebs787

“She needs to realize that it’s not about winning: it’s about what you
do after the show.” As he points out, “The people that win are sometimes
less successful than the people that don’t win.”

Except that in 10 of 11 completed seasons, the most successful contestant at least made the finale of their respected seasons. So his point is contradictory of facts. If this girl is trying to win, more power to her. Maybe she realizes the rhetoric of “If Chris Daughtry can do it, I can do it” no longer applies.

  • Damien Roberts

I don’t necessarily agree with this, but we all know that he and Angie probably don’t get along, so its very likely he’s talking about her.

  • chillj

I think I will take this one with a grain of salt.

  • Noa Na’aman

ugh. can they cover a Lazaro song for the diva theme tonight? and why the hell did Nicki have a twitter fight with the lovely Devin and not with this extremely obnoxious (there i’ve said it) kid?! i’ve never wrote anything like this about an Idol contestant but these kids are going too far. this is not how you behave in public. get it together!

  • taylor

At first, I tried to give Lazaro the benefit of the doubt, knowing about what he had been through in his life. Now, it’s become obvious to me that he is someone who has a bad attitude and doesn’t take any kind of personal responsibility for his mistakes or shortcomings. He’s one of those people who is playing the victim card to the fullest extent, instead of one of those people who won’t let their disability, or any challenge in life, define them.

Lazaro is an unpleasant, bitter person with a rotten attitude in general.

  • chillj

  • ?Let’s Run Away?

IMO if anyone walks on the Idol stage and doesn’t feel like they need to fight for the win is pretty arrogant and narcissistic. To win is the name of the game here and is the whole reason why we watch them. It is evident that Lazaro could not have cared if he won or not as long as he got some attention.

  • LeoCS

Whoa! This top10 is a group more dysfunctional than the judging panel this year. I never would say that this is possible. This season is such a trainwreck. lol

  • tommy

    Sore loser. No class. Irrelevant.

  • chillj

  • Jive

I can’t believe he actually dished about that… I guess he’s not worried about having to spend the summer with his cast mates!
My guess is Angie! Being a Notherner, living in the Bible Belt, for me, the “crazies” always seem to be the “good Christians”. lol

  • Larc

I don’t think Lazaro has many friends among the Idols anyway. If he keeps this up, none of the others will even be speaking to him by the time they go on tour. It could be a miserable 2 months for him.

  • rbidol

He probably does mean Angie, which makes their duet a few weeks ago even funnier. Maybe he should remember that she did her best to cover for his mistakes in that duet. He looks really bad calling the person who tried to lessen his public embarrassment crazy…if she wanted to win so badly, she wouldn’t have helped him the best she could!

  • fuzzywuzzy

I’m sorry, but given what I’ve seen of Lazaro’s opinions and perspective, I’m not going to believe anything that he says. lol That having been said, I think that Angie is the remaining contestant who most wants to win the title “American Idol”.

  • ?Let’s Run Away?

Angie could have called him out on his mistakes but chose to be a team player and compliment him

  • LeoCS

Coming from Lazaro, I’m 99% sure this is Angie. Someone on VFTW has copied tweets from Lazaro’s sister trash-talking Angie.

  • jcabby

I’ve never seen this much drama in any season of Idol until now. Wow. LOL

  • fuzzywuzzy

Yeah, Lazaro is still trying to attract attention now that he’s off the show. lol I think that he’s a troublemaker and wouldn’t be above exaggerating (lying) to get attention. He’s a douchebag.

  • Jive

lol….. den mother Kree is a actually trying to mother them all to death!

  • taylor

Wasn’t that last week’s news? Both Laz and his sister are ridiculous.

  • fuzzywuzzy

In his post-elimination interviews, Lazaro keeps saying that for him it was never about winning the “tv show”, but gaining exposure for himself as a singer (which he believed that he achieved). Yep. He got exposure alright, but I think that it’s not the kind of exposure that he wanted. lol

  • db987

This is the year of no chemistry.

  • WestiesRule

I think it’s him. I refuse to vote.

  • fuzzywuzzy

He doesn’t realize yet what a joke he is.

  • dawnage01

    Lazaro needs to SIT DOWN.

  • Face

I’m surprised that 5% of people think it’s Amber… especially given MJ has stated in the post that Lazaro is asking his voters (and anyone else who will listen) to vote for her?!?!?!

  • fuzzywuzzy

The joke is that Lazaro has no ability to see reality, has no self-awareness or perspective on where he ranks in the musical universe, and yet he feels free to trash others? lmao!

  • angiedb

    Lazaro needs to stop.

  • No Thanks

Or the Amanda Bynes character from Easy A?

  • fuzzywuzzy

I agree. All of the bad feelings seem to originate with Lazaro.

  • fuzzywuzzy

I agree. He’s extremely manipulative and knows how to exploit people’s sympathy and emotions. The guy is a troublemaker.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Given how delusional Lazaro is about himself and his abilities, then he’s hardly the one to believe in evaluating anyone else. lol

  • fuzzywuzzy

    … and STFU! lol

  • fuzzywuzzy

  • Face

I guess we can all speculate… based on any number of things we’ve heard, seen or assumed etc… it’s only human nature after all…

but what’s to say Lazaro isn’t just exaggerating to make a good story… or even worse… making it all up… maybe none of them are cray cray and viewing it as a ‘fight to the death’…

so maybe it’s because we don’t really know if it’s true or not… and it feels a bit strange to be saying this, as I’m really not a fan… but as 70% of people think it’s her… I can’t help but feel a little bit sorry for Angie…

having said that I am chuckling away at many of the comments on here!

  • vd88

Right all the bad negative vibes all lead back to one person Lazaro. It’s not the cast as a whole, it’s literally all been about one person Lazaro.

  • fuzzywuzzy

“but what’s to say Lazaro isn’t just exaggerating to make a good story… or even worse… making it all up… maybe none of them are cray cray and viewing it as a ‘fight to the death’…”

Exactly. Plus, because Lazaro seemed to have a rather cavalier attitude towards trivial matters like learning lyrics, singing on key and not screwing up group numbers, then he may regard anyone who showed the remotest desire to work hard and try their best for each performance as overly intense and “crazy”. lol

  • bobo

He wasn’t embarrassed. It wasn’t his fault, don’t you know. I mean all those lyrics. The band changing keys all the time… Nobody understands…!

  • MV007

Whoever this girl is, she is clearly nuts. She spent all of her free time trying to learn the lyrics to her songs and practicing for her performances. She has the audacity to know how to change keys with the band and puts a smile on her face when she receives criticism. Thats cray-cray.

  • Sally Smith

Wow there sure is a lot of drama this season! It’s irritating yet entertaining at the same time lol:D Hmmm but my guess is on Angie?

  • Listening

Lazaro’s comment about the Hunger Games is about the funniest thing I ever heard. I’m rolling. LOL The stuff i’m imagining….

  • flog gnaw

Lazaro is such a wuss and a diva. Other than his stutter, he was probably picked on in school because he always ran his mouth and didn’t know when to shut it.

  • Ryan

Actually, lazaro is obviously talking about candice. I mean, she has the NERVE to sing flawlessly last week with creative song choices and 100% emotional connection! Like, who does that? Gosh ;)

  • LeahKittyS

I saw that someone tweeted Candice the link to this article, joking that it might have been about her. Candice replied “lol I bet it’s not.” Do you think she knows who he is talking about?

  • Weebs787

exactly my thoughts. I would hesitate to speculate about anybody’s
personality that we don’t know personally on the internet anyway, but
add in that the source of this crazy demon lady is Lazaro??? I’m
inclined to believe it’s most likely 100% false.

  • No Thanks

I’m gonna guess Angie, but only because she seems like a perfectionist. I could imagine getting stuck with Lazaro for a duet AFTER the trainwreck with Devin and Burnell, she probably got on his ass to not screw up HER chances. And I wouldn’t blame her ONE BIT if she did.

Lazaro seems to have a permanent defensive and sarcastic attitude probably as a result of a lifetime of dealing with his stuttering disability. But I suspect that members of his family have probably also gone super easy on and made endless excuses for him growing up too. Kinda like Gloria and her son Manny on “Modern Family”. No matter what Manny does, he’s the “most wonderful and amazing child ever!!”

Having a stutter doesn’t automatically mean that you are automatically doomed not to be able to handle normal work. Hell, the head librarian (with a friggin’ MASTERS) at my job has a stutter just as bad as Lazaro does. It obviously didn’t slow down his career.

Lazaro just makes endless excuses and thinks he’s justified in doing so because people are just picking on him because of his disability.

  • mjsbigblog

Voting in the poll can be based on which girl Lazaro would be likeliest to diss. He gossiped…the question is who is he referring to?

I have no idea if Larzaro is exaggerating or fibbing. I don’t think it really matters.

  • Kevin Keller

Lazaro clearly has the mentality of a prepubescent girl.

  • dawnage01

Lol!! Fuzzywuzzy, I love you so much. :) :)

  • No Thanks

Alex never pulled anything like that. Alex never made excuses for not succeeding on Idol. Yeah, he could be a punk but he always worked his ass off when it came to music.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Lazaro’s stutter is much less severe in this latest video that he made for his fans:

It’s interesting how the severity of his stuttering varies so much. Also, it looks like he isn’t wearing any pants! lol

  • No Thanks

Meh…it probably gets worse when he’s feeling stressed

  • Jenny Williams

American Idol Season 12 : Season of the feuds. First Mariah, Nicki and Randy. Now the contestants among themselves.(Although Lazaro seems to be at the center of all the drama)

  • Kesia Monteith

Don’t forget twitter fights with other bloggers LOL

  • Cory Patrick

Everyone says Kree is the mama, so I’m gonna say its Angie and this is because she took shots at him. Amber is his best friend, so it’s not her and Janelle knows she has no shot at winning this thing.

  • Kesia Monteith

I looked through her twitter page, and I don’t see her responding to the article anywhere :/

  • lollamape

    From my fellow IDF poster:

“Right, this dude is an ass. He’s the common denominator in this whole
casts problems. Everyone else seems to get along fine. PPL liked to talk
about the animosity this group has but it’s all stems from one person,

    So f***ing true

  • Laura Corn

This gets better and better. This. Is a year of first…and not in a good way. I would really dislike seeing this show go out looking foolish.

  • abbysee

Assy, assed douchey tight pant wearing whinner!

  • Miz

It’s an evil plot. I knew she looked devious.

  • abbysee

Whiner, that is. Bares repeating, lol!

  • fuzzywuzzy

That’s an insult to prepubescent girls. lol

  • Miz

Can Lazaro get any more unlikeable?

  • Pippygirl

Lazaro is going to have to run alongside of the buses during the tour.

  • abbysee

    Me too!

  • fuzzywuzzy

    ” tight pant wearing”

Don’t you mean “tight pants (with a sock in them) wearing” whiner? lol

  • fuzzywuzzy

He can ride with the crew and stage equipment. lol

  • Incipit

Except Heejun used the comparison with The Hunger Games and Idol on TV last year. So that’s not even an original thought.

Why is any one paying attention to this whackaloon?smh.

  • Face

I understand… and didn’t mean to come across as judgmental… just musing on the situation…
there’s no issue from me with people having any opinion they want on any of the contestants… or with you doing a poll based on Lazaro’s gossip… if anything I think it’s quite amusing and entertaining…
just felt a bit sorry for Angie being far and away considered the most likely culprit… which surprised me as there’s aspects of her that really do ‘rub me up the wrong way’… she obviously has a similar affect on others for her to have 70% of the vote…

  • dawnage01

Put some pants on, son!! Lolol. :P

  • Tinawina

    LMAO! What a bitch.

  • LeahKittyS
  • Pippygirl

What makes you think they want him!

  • Caroline Bridges

    Den mother of…E-vil? ;)

  • Ira

That would describe any athlete or candidate for promotion that I know. I don’t care what he says, there is only one winner, one American Idol 2013. What a disappointment he has been.

  • Amy Beth

I wonder if Nigel will be tweeting that Fox is in charge of contestant media relations too?

  • Ira

Dang right.. we should take her out to the woodshed and skin her alive.

  • Ira

    She’s putting Xanax in Amber’s brownies….That explains a lot..

  • jobeob987

Ah, the season that keeps on giving. Love it!

  • fuzzywuzzy

lol You’re right. Maybe, they can just strap him to the top of the bus? Like Mitt Romney did to his dog? lol

  • Incipit

Had to check. Yes, the Comment Count has gone over 100, and Disqus has lost its mind and begun recycling comments from earlier, saying they were from “a few seconds ago”.

Idk who posted the observation, but so far it looks like they may be right – 100 posts is the line before Chaos descends on a thread. I’m outta here.

  • Ira

Some of the most laid back people I know, are the most competitive. We don’t really get to see them rehearsing, and if we do, we may change our opinions. It is one of the reasons that I think Curtis got a bad rap. He was intense, maybe too intense for the mainstream. Blake used to catch a lot of flack too.

  • pj

Angie has a perma-smile that I don’t quite buy. I could be totally wrong. I don’t know her. However, I think she’s smart enough to APPEAR to play along. And yes, Lazaro seems totally deluded and could be just trying to create drama.

  • Ira

So, what if it is Angie, that girl’s on Fiya!

  • Ira

I disagree, most of the contestants really care for each other, and are quite likable. That has been clear with every elimination but one. Laz(y) is a malcontent, and needs to keep his behind at home.

  • tierbee

Oh, Lazaro. Here you go again. Seems to be a petulant – and petty – brat. Sorry if he’s really the nicest person in the history of the world but… he sure doesn’t come off that way.

  • Kevin Keller

Anyone noticing a recurring theme of feuds and immaturity throughout season? The whole NIcki/Mariah explosion and the finalists’ unpolitical mishandling of their twitter activity come to mind. Poor season 12, no wonder it’s struggling; should make for a terribly uncomfortable tour.

  • standtotheright

Next up, Arbos compares Jimmy Iovine to the warden in Shawshank Redemption. “How can he be so obtuse?”

This kid is such a mess.

  • Michael Bishop

Dear Lazaro – GO AWAY. There has to be a reason that many of the other contestants were happy to see you go. I’m just a watcher and I’m glad you’re gone.

  • Chris

Candice is very serious but why would he always clap for her if it is? He’s talking angie or janelle.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Good one! Except I don’t think that Lazaro would know what “obtuse” means. lol

  • Sparkles

Who cares what Lazaro thinks. I hope all of them want to win and put 100% into everything they do on the show. If I
was on the show I’d want to win so I could make a CD (unlike the winner of the X
Factor). At least I’d want to be top 2 and get a car.

It’s sometimes seen as a negative when a woman is competitive and wants to
win. People don’t say “Aaron Rodgers really wants to win the Super Bowl,
it’s like he thinks he’s in the Hunger Games.”

  • JD

The fact that 2/3 day Angie tells you something. Having said that, paw make Lazaro go away. Feel terrible I used to like the kid

  • JD

Sounds like he’s ridden the stuttering thing for years. And has always been coddled

  • hayes

If there’s a time to film a reality show for the Idol tour, this year is it.

  • patriciajames

I was watching very carefully last week when he was eliminated and at the end when the 5 girls came over to give him a hug or some words of “whatever”…Angie ignored him completely, probably trying to restrain her fast happy clapping thing she does when she is overjoyed.

  • LeahKittyS

Yes, there is that…but I think backstage there is some fault on both of their parts, as in, they both need little attitude adjustments.

  • breakdown

Smack talkers, haha. Looks like someone is overwhelmingly winning this poll!

  • roaringpen

I don’t think I really want to see these kids on tour. BUT, I would watch a reality show based on the bus and behind-the-scenes on the tour in a heartbeat. Raawwwwwr. LOL!

  • ?Let’s Run Away?

Lol perma-smile x) Imo all the girls are there to win and they all have to be a little obsessed because this isn’t a school talent contest, its the real deal, things that only dreams are made of. it is the difference between playing for the local town picnic and eating fast food and being on a stage with all the bells and whistles in front of thousands of people and living the life of luxury, even if its for a little while, she will still be set for life. A dream worth fighting for. :)

  • Bill Mitchell

They all suck compared to the talent on The Voice this year. Not hatin’, just sayin’.

  • maymay

1.Lazaro is a stutter physically but a big mouth mentally. Who were like him in Idol history?

2.This world is a hunger games world including American Idol. Lazaro used his stutter to play the hunger games. He has no qualification to blame other contestants.

3.Lazaro really enjoys his 5 minutes fame. Be careful, the ones who work with him. Because if he doesn`t like you, he could dis you publiclly.

4.Besides big mouth, Lazaro has any talent?

  • Kat Myers

All I can say is this: The sooner he stops being interviewed and written about, the sooner he will figure out just how irrelevant he is. Boy will he have a major wake up call in September when no one is interested any longer.

  • girlygirl

The Girls seem to all get along, although who knows if that’s really the case.

I’d guess Angie is the one Lazaro is referring to. To me, she seems like the one who is most determined to win. The ones may want to win, but somehow they don’t seem quite as invested in the competition.

Just a feeling I get. I could be way off here :)

  • Tricia

Where am I missing all the drama? I didn’t realize there was so much juicy stuff going on?

  • LeahKittyS

The girls get along great. Really, the whole Top 10 gets along fine; Lazaro just seems to be a snake in the garden. I think the reason we didn’t hear about this from the very beginning is a) nobody could see his messy performances coming and b) the presence of all the contestants together acted as a buffer so that he could hang out with all of them and whatever obnoxious stuff he does could be overlooked. Once they are all back together on the road, they should be fine. Lazaro should just watch his back for pranks.

  • LeahKittyS

Something occurred to me recently. Remember that girl who auditioned on the day of the Mariah/Nicki “smack down” and, as she walked out, told the judges “Don’t fight; it makes us sad?” Well, that’s what I’d like to tell this year’s contestants. I suggested peer mediation on another thread; I’d gladly go over there and help them work out whatever issues they are having. All this infighting makes me sad, and it’s all centered around one or two people.

  • taylor

The five girls get along fine. No one needs peer mediation, but Lazaro needs an attitude adjustment and a healthy dose of reality. He’s the problem and thankfully, he is gone from the live shows.

  • LeahKittyS

There’s still the tour to get through. This is clearly not a very mature cast overall; someone needs to step in to get Lazaro to stop doing whatever he’s doing that would make the others diss him on Twitter, and to get them to quit throwing shade.

  • Kat Myers

Hmm, this is interesting … Lazaro follows Angie, Kree, Janelle, Amber, Devin, Cortez, Paul, Nick B but does NOT follow Candice, Burnell or Curtis. I wonder if Candice is the one he is dishing on?

  • Niall

Wow, at heart Lazaro is still a gossipy, bitchy middle school drama queen, isn’t he? In fact, despite the stereotype that girls are the ones who talk smack, it seems like the drama this year is either Lazaro being catty or one of the guys being catty about Lazaro.

  • taylor

It’s Lazaro’s problem. I imagine the other eight, outside of Amber, will learn to either ignore him or tolerate him in their own ways.

  • LeahKittyS

He still needs to seriously work on his social skills if he has any hope of a career post-Idol.

  • tigervixxxen

    Hmm very curious…

  • Happyhexer

    OK, that made me LOL.

  • LeahKittyS

Well, this pretty much rules out Janelle. He tweeted this during tonight’s show.

“Aww poor @JanelleAI12 @KeithUrban I thought she did amazing :)”

And Janelle doesn’t seem to have a problem with him; she replied: aww thank you <3 "lazaro boo" (even after Twitter-gate, she appeared amiable towards him.)

Interesting he never replied to Angie's multiple tweets of affection to him. Perhaps he thought they were insincere?

  • Happyhexer

There have been Idol contestants before who I haven’t been a big fan of because I didn’t like their voice or their performances, etc. But I can honestly say that I’ve liked as persons (or at the worst have been indifferent to) all previous Idol contestants I’ve viewed. This is the first time that I have felt affirmatively negative toward an Idol. I just get a bad feeling about Lazaro.

I guess we haven’t heard the last of him yet. But I do believe the day will come when he will have to reckon with his irrelevance. It’s kinda sad. He might’ve been able to carve out a modest career for himself. But you have to be mega-talented and powerful to get away with this kind of gossip, backbiting, and negativity. No one is going to want to work with Lazaro. They’ll all be thinking, “If you talk like that about your fellow contestants, what will you say about me down the line?” Nobody likes or trusts a loose cannon.

  • DragonFly

Always like to give some consideration that a news/gossip story is first legit & happened as it is reported, but if true then he is crossing a line beyond being defended. He’s certainly had enough crap thrown his way to last 2 lifetimes, but it no longer reflects well on him to throw his opinion (anyway at this time) about his feelings on another contestant. He’s not the 1st this season to do this, but that doesn’t make it right. This show becomes such a storm of bashing that whoever does it (although some appear to enjoy it lol), I wish contestants would refrain from being a part of it.

  • Happyhexer

Yeah, I noticed that Amber seemed to be the only one upset when Lazaro got voted off. I feel bad the whole group is getting tarred with the “dysfunctional” label when really it only takes one bad apple to change the group dynamics . . .

  • renzy24

OMG Lazaro! I’m sure you’ll be kicked off from the idol tour bus. promised!

  • Happyhexer

One of my coworkers and fellow lawyers stutters. You have to be patient when he tries to spit something out orally. But it is always worth the wait. And man, can this guy write! Smooth as glass. So yes, a stutter does not mean one can’t forge a successful career.

  • Happyhexer

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

  • usedtobelucy

“I doubt Lazaro will have to worry about being more successful than someone who did not win idol.”

Or more successful than, oh, just about anyone.

I don’t think he realizes that, as an adult, your attitude and behavior toward people counts. As in — if it’s bad, you won’t get jobs unless you’re actually Caruso or Mick Jagger. He’s about to get a series of extremely rude awakenings.

  • yclept

Oh no…someone actually entered a competition and reallllly wants to win? The horrors. Perhaps that was part of your problem, Lazaro. (Other than the fact you can’t sing of course)

  • fuzzywuzzy

“4.Besides big mouth, Lazaro has any talent?”

He’s excellent at playing the “victim card” and exploiting people’s sympathy and emotions.

  • Ira

A lot of this is contrived drama.

  • Damien Roberts

Angie also got involved a little when she tweeted about Burnell not deserving to go home the week he was eliminated.

  • julesb2183

I think that it is Angie simply because she had to do a duet with Lazaro, which she probably wasn’t happy about, especially coming off of the previous week’s performance of Shop Around. She probably sat him down and told him that he wasn’t going to ruin this chance for her and that he needed to learn their song, like anyone would. That probably rubbed him the wrong way. Angie seems like a sweet person, but she probably was thinking her Idol dream was going to come to an end and that she was being thrown under the bus when she had to duet with him. I can’t blame her.

  • julesb2183

There probably has been much worse fighting, especially in the days that everything Idol touched turned gold. I hear that the air clears during the tour.

  • LeahKittyS

That makes sense. The tour set list is fixed, and nobody poses a threat to anyone else’s spot. Let’s hope it happens again this year. Amber and Janelle and (though she may be bluffing) Angie seem okay with Lazaro, and the others should tolerate him for Amber’s sake, if there is no actual hugging and making up.

  • bearcatnat .

I think Lazaro has been spoiled growing up, and it’s showing!

  • Philip Dudley

Yes! That is so spot on!! LOL
