Kristy Lee Cook Featured On New Duet With Country Hitmaker Randy Houser (AUDIO)

American Idol Season 7’s 7th place finisher Kristy Lee Cook has been working towards the release of a new country album via Broken Bow Records, and while her recent single “Airborne Ranger Infantry” wasn’t able to get much traction at country radio, she now appears on a labelmate Randy Houser’s album, How Country Feels, which was released today via Stoney Creek Records (sister label of Broken Bow Records, where Kristy Lee is signed).

Randy Houser may not be a household name, but he will have the #1 song on the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck charts that will be published later today with “How Country Feels,” and XFactor US Season 2 winner Tate Stevens made his mark by covering Houser’s 1st country hit “Anything Goes.”

Check out their duet on a song called “Wherever Love Goes,” written by Paul Jenkins, Jason Sellers, and Neil Thrasher (Jenkins and Sellers also cowrote the smash Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson crossover duet “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” with fellow singer/songwriter Andy Gibson.

KLC is my favorite girl from season 7. I remember how the judges didn’t let her catch a break. I admit her 8 days a week wasn’t the greatest but she had many amazing performances such as ‘youre no good ‘ god bless the USA’ and ‘anyways’. Her 1rst album is amazing!

I’m not a fan of KLC, either musically or her weird bitterness for Idol all these years later, but I do have to say I admire her tenacity.  No matter how many projects just don’t quite go her way, she’s always there chugging along and etc.

I really like this song, Kristy sounds great. It could do really well at country radio, hard to tell. There is something special about a good duet, I wish there were more on radio.

I like her, I am glad she is still around and singing.  She was great.

Kirsty has a great country voice. But there’s something slightly…desperate about her. That’s the vibe I get. It kinda turns me off.

This is a very nice duet, but nothing really amazing. Is this going to be a single or something?

Randy Houser has an amazing voice that is very powerful.  Kristy shows her pipes here which we do not always get to see.  Houser has amazing music…and together they have a wonderful blend with their voices.  This could be a hit song if given enough radio play.  Which it should get because it is up there with the best duets.  One other thing regarding Kristy, Simon said (after Idol) that he thought she would be a contender for the winner. Meaning #2 if not #1, that means he believed in her, and was hard on her for the show.  Just saying!
