Kelly Clarkson is shooting the music video for her single “Darkside” next weekend. Check out the casting notice for the shoot.  Any speculation on plot? Post them in comments.  (ActorsCasting.com)

Location: Downtown Los Angeles Ca.
Rate: $200 Cash

Casting:
Real Couple – 28-32 yrs old.
looking for a real couple who has recently broken up and can show us that complication on screen through facial expressions and body language

Teen Runaway – Male or Female – 15-19 yrs old.
rough around the edges, someone with a very difficult past.

Heavily Tattooed Guy – 25-40 yrs old
Must have a lot of visible tattoos

Pierced Girl – 18-28 yrs old
Looking for a girl with a lot of facial and body piercings

Teen Cuter – 14-19 yrs old
thin fair skinned girl with an emotionally tortured air to her. If possible would love to find a girl whom has had a problem with cutting in the past and has the scars to prove it.

Wheelchair Bound Amputee – 25-50 yrs old
must be missing 1 to 2 legs. It is okay if you do not usually use a wheelchair.

    Isn’t it kinda tacky to be looking for a girl who has cut herself in the past?  It’s almost like they are glorifying it.  I hate this song, will hate the video.

    Those casting calls are disgusting. So how does the cutter “prove” she was a cutter? With her scars? So if a couple girls audition, the one that gets the part cut deeper and bigger? I am appalled. Looking at the rest of the cast, I didn’t realize a person’s darkside was their “appearance”. I thought it was much deeper. Kelly should be ashamed. Actors and make-up could do the same job instead of exploiting these people’s hardship. Anything for $$. ……. Her name is on it…the buck stops with her.

    Those adds sound like a SNL skit for hiring for a video.

    My question if you are an Wheel chair bound Amputee wouldn’t you most likely be missing at least one leg.

    This isn’t anything new. Casting call sheets are usually pretty tacky, sometimes downright offensive. They get pretty specific to weed out anyone that has no business being there, except they do it without any tact. Just like that Acura add casting call for “not too dark” black actors, that we heard about a few days ago. Let’s hope this doesn’t turn out badly for Kelly.

    The descriptions, especially the one involving cutting, made me cringe. But I’m gonna withhold any judgement until I see the final vid. It could end up being really inspiring. At least that’s what I’m hoping, I love Kelly and she’s doing amazing now, do not want a misstep.

    It sounds a lot like Beautiful/Perfect, hopefully there is some type of twist because I don’t think Dark Side is really about the same things.

    The whole casting call seems poorly written though, is it legitimate? The entire site looks like it just re-posts Craigslist listings… Is it typical for major music video productions to use Craigslist?

    The casting call is ott, but there are people out there that fit the bill.  Kelly is trying to be a voice for them.  There are a lot of hurting people.  So sad.

    I too will wait to see where this is going…but wow! Don’t know anything about this industry, so don’t know if this is a typical casting ad or not. Sounds interesting, to say the least.

    These make me cringe, too. I am pretty sure that the video will be cringe worthy – and a big mistep for her. Everytime Kelly goes social / political is backfires on her. The song IS NOT about cutters or anything about that -it is about people in relationships getting to know each other and still loving the person. I hope the video doesn’t ruin the song for me.

    It looks like they are casting a Dr. Phil show and not a pop music video. The ‘teen cutter’ is the one that disturbs me the most.
