Simple, I found Scotty to be a great Country singer. He had that old school country sound with an incredible low range in his voice you don’t often hear. That made him unique. Even though I’m not a fan of country, I can appreciate his unique voice.

And I found James’ 5 octive range incredible. I hadn’t heard a Rock voice that incredible in at least 15 to 20 yrs. And being a Rock fan, he became my favorite. He also had incredible stage presence from the get go on Idol. Scotty developed his over time.

I considered them both great last season.

I can’t get through a James or Scotty song without turning it off one minute in so I guess its subjective as to what average or great is. Average is only a useful term in mathematics as a rule, not The Arts. 

I agree. But I prefer James. His vocals are crisper and clearer. Just personal preference.

Like I said in my post, it’s just my opinion. Everyone has one. That why I said to others she may seem fantastic. Obviously she does to you.

If someone asked me to choose one song, one movie, one book…I couldn´t. There is so much out there to choose from, so many books, so many movies, so many artists to choose from, to share with friends, to find or give meaning to a specific point in your life. so many reasons why some material appeal to you or not, so it seems odd to come here and judge or be judged by my preferences….

Haley appeals to me and I don´t see the need to defend my point of view in every post that is made here or in any site that I visit. I don´t want to have to defend my choice, I wanna enjoy it and maybe share it with others that feel alike.

So I was almost going to give up into reading this. But thanks to Haley to give us something to talk about, huh? What really pains me regardless was that post of saying Haley is “average” got 17 likes *sigh*. But then I realized it comes from a season 10 fan nonetheless. So I was worried somebody fan of a veteran and superstar Idol was actually laying some truth, made me concerned for a while. But it seems are comments from s10 fans, now that’s just not helpful in the least and totally inaccurate. And could not be more irrelevant to me as I think Haley not only displays such a huge amount of qualities I haven’t seen on not just any idol of any season before but on any other singer overall, let alone from someone from season 10. That would be dismissing all her talent, that would be a tragic loss. And now those comments about being an imitation from 50′s singers, that’s just too much. But I guess that’s what Haley gets into for having such a style and being very ambitious with her music vision. But that’s what makes Haley, Haley. If she wouldn’t be doing this kind of music, she would be a bland pop singer and people wouldn’t even be talking about her. Or maybe even more people would, but at least not me and basically every fan she currently has. She gives us, her fans, faith on putting some great quite unique music on the mainstream. So I mean will America will give her a chance, or American Idol can only produce country singers? Only bland, generic, pasty music seems to come out from this show. I think Haley can give American idol another level and authenticity on some different kind of music. At least that’s what I trust her album would do.
