Check out the gauzy new cover art for Christina Aguilera’s upcoming album, Lotus, set to be released on November 6. Christina tweeted it to her followers earlier today.

    It’s very pretty, sort of mermaid rising from the mist, I usually just down load music so the cover art isn’t all that important to me.

    Cover art gets worse every day. Pure garbage. But it’s comprehensible. It was a big part of the value of the LP and continued to be worthy during the era of the CD. But it’s almost meaningless on digital sales time. They’re hiring the cheapest artists in the town. We’ll never see masterpieces as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd’s covers again.

    When I saw this, her album ‘Stripped’ was the first thing came to my mind… well at least her boobs were more covered here compare when she’s actually in a dress. lol

    I don’t see the point in being almost nude in an album cover, especially if u have a great voice, which she does!
    She is showing more and more of herself, at first it was sexy and fun, now it’s becoming disgusting.

    Are album covers really supposed to mean something? I think it’s mystical, sexy….nothing special, beautiful though.

    For anyone who thinks this cover is so racy and garbage, by any chance have you ever seen the 1968 John Lennon & Yoko album “Two Virgins”? If you think the way Christina is posing is so disgusting you would probably pass out if you saw THAT album. Not gonna post it directly here but they are *completely* naked. I mean everything hanging out. This cover is mild in comparison.  Controversial album covers go way, way back. Some of the greatest rock acts have had controversial/nude album covers. IIRC back in the 80′s Prince posed naked on a cover.

    I think it is very ethereal.  Just beautiful.
    Christina has been speaking out about her weight gain and defending curvy bodies.   This should reflect a positive image for those who feel less than perfect about their bodies.
