Today’s American Idol 12 Hollywood Week spoilers come from a variety of sources, including twitter.

First things first: Remember when I told you that the Top 40 boys and girls would be heading to Las Vegas today? Well SCRATCH THAT.  For whatever reason (I suspect it had something to do with the judges’ schedules)  there were no rounds on Sunday.  The Top 43 girls were scheduled to perform in the solo with band rounds, just like the guys, but it was pushed back to TODAY.

ETA: THE GIRLS REHEARSED WITH THE BAND YESTERDAY. THERE WERE NO JUDGES ROUNDS ON SUNDAY.

By the end of the day, Monday (Dec 17) the Top 43 girls will be whittled down.  A Top 20 girls and Top 20 boys will be announced.  However, the delayed schedule means THE LAS VEGAS ROUND WILL BE PUSHED INTO JANUARY.   No word on dates yet.

BUT THERE IS MORE.

The Vegas Rounds will result in a TOP 20.  Ten girls and Ten guys.  There will be a middle round BUT the episode will be taped a few days before it airs. THE JUDGES WILL DECIDE WHO ADVANCES TO A TOP 10..  There will be no viewer voter until there is a Top 10.  Right. No Top 12 or 13. A Top 10. AND NO VIEWER VOTING UNTIL THE FINALS.

Of course, Nigel Lythgoe reserves the right to change his mind before season begins (OR EVEN DURING THE SEASON), so you never know.

But, The Las Vegas round has definitely been pushed into the new year.  As soon as I know more, I’ll let you all know.

Here are the boys who survived the last Hollywood solo round. The number will be cut down further to 20 (as will the girls) for the upcoming Las Vegas round in January.

    Johnny Keyser has probably learned guitar since last year (just a hunch).
    If he somehow manages to make it to top 10, there’s your winner, I’m calling it now, lol.

    (Btw, the moment I saw P2 in a plaid shirt whip out the guitar at auditions, I called that one too.)

    No problem here with departure of Schyler (or however she spells it) because I was underwhelmed by both of the Dixon siblings. Am curious, though … MJ, you have David Leathers Jr. as Top 28 but TIP has him cut in Hollywood (along with Shelby Tweten). Confirm/deny? I liked him …

    The difference between P2 and Keyser is that Keyser has this “d-bag” vibe about him much like Emblem3. That won’t go down well with voters.

    I totally agree about the d-bag thing. But if he learned anything from last year, especially about how they edited him, we’ll see how good an actor he is at playing nice. 
    If he can pull that off, he has a great shot.
