Kelly Rowland is BACK!

LOL Dermot is dancing with the girls. Tonight’s theme is dance club classics. Ballad free zone! Double elimination tomorrow night!

The X Factor judges enter the studio. Kelly looks stunning in pink.

Johnny Robinson – Hung Up/You Spin Me Round
Johnny wants to marry Gary? Gary is taken!
This is breathtakingly BAD. And hilarious. Johnny also has the death spot… They really want to get rid of him?
Gary tears him apart. Johnny still wants to marry him. Kelly liked his performance and Tulisa found him predictable.

Janet Devlin – I Want You Back
She is finally doing an upbeat song. Ooops, did she miss some lyrics? Yep. But hey, at least it’s not another ballad.
Louis loved it. Tulisa thinks Janet should stick with ballads in her comfort zone.
Gary thinks it was vocally weak. Kelly defends her. At least she had fun! Is this favorite slipping?

Craig Colton – Heaven
His hardest week because Craig’s voice is not suited for uptempo … Oookay. Craig and dancing also don’t mix. Scary week.
It starts and ends as a ballad, but the middle is uptempo. Dancing is still atrocious.
Louis: You remind me of young Gary Barlow. Tulisa loved it, Kelly too. Gary is happy. Yep, Gary is clearly championing Craig… Another bland male winner, here we come!

The Risk – A Night To Remember
The Risk get a visit from JLS. JLS get free promo. Derry gave his number to Nicole Scherzinger.
They sing and dance behind their mic stands. This is actually great. Derry raps.
Louis loved it. Kelly also thinks it was good. Gary thinks the vocals were lacking … Gary is playing a game. The Risk are vocally already miles ahead of JLS, One Direction, The Wanted, but it’s still not good enough?

Marcus Collins – Reet Petite
This performance has retro feel. Marcus is definitely taking this competition seriously.
Louis loved it. Tulisa says he keeps reinventing himself every week. Kelly thinks he is growing in the competition. Gary says this was the performance of the season.

Kitty Brucknell – Like A Prayer
Ugh. This song is just a bad fit for Kitty. The arrangement is strangely disjointed. Overall, this is just not enjoyable.
Tulisa loved it, thinks Kitty is a true artist. Kelly thinks this performance was a little bit flat. Gary thinks the vocals were a bit off. Louis obviously thinks her performance was fantastic.

Frankie Cocozza – I Gotta Feeling
Frankie thinks Misha B didn’t deserve to be in the bottom 2 last week.
Frankie is doing this BEP classic in his punk/rock way. He has band on stage. Frankie’s vocals are bad and he wanders aimlessly around the stage. Pointless.
Louis: “This was bad karaoke. You are not a rock star.”
Tulisa: “Too soft song choice. It didn’t work for me.”
Kelly: “I want you to work on your vocals.”
Gary: “Back in your cage, Louis. I apologize for a bad song choice. I feel sorry for you. You did your best tonight.”
Louis won’t shut up.

Misha B – Proud Mary
Misha gets a visit from her family. TPTB are obviously trying to restore the damage of the bully-gate. Kelly says seeing Misha in the bottom 2 made her even more sick.
What can I say, Misha B is the complete package. Her look is more toned down this week, less makeup. The performance is pretty faithful to Tina Turner’s version.
Louis loved it, thinks she and Marcus are in a different league. Tulisa, Gary, Kelly …
Basically everyone loved it. Louis wants Manchester to pick up their phones.

Little Mix – Please Don’t Stop The Music
Girls get a special package, each girl gets highlighted. TPTB obviously want to keep them in the competition for a while. We see them sing on stage with Jessie J.
I think the girls did fine.
Louis loved everything about them.
Kelly wants to hear something accapella from them.
Gary thinks they were incredible and vocally great.
Tulisa obviously loved them.

Tomorrow: Double elimination, JLS and Florence + The Machine perform.

_ _ _

So, what do you think?

I think tonight’s show was strong. Misha B, Marcus Collins, The Risk, Craig Colton and Little Mix all did a good job. Misha is like an old pro, Marcus gives his 110% every week and Craig Coltron finally gave a performance I didn’t dislike. Both groups, The Risk and Little Mix, are a lot better than X Factor UK groups from previous years. So that was the good.

The bad? Kitty‘s performance was pretty flat. She is trying to outdo herself every week, but “Like A Prayer” just didn’t suit her. Janet Devlin forgot the words. Poor girl. Her first uptempo performance at least wasn’t as boring as her previous performances. She will most likely survive this week and stay in her little box until the bitter end. Too bad. Johnny Robinson just confirmed the fact that he is a joke contestant. His performance was really cringe-worthy. And then there is Frankie Cocozza, who is a special case. He really needs to go.
